I was just wondering if there are other Yorkies out there who are POOL ADDICTS ?? :cool: My 5 year old female Pepper is a fish :goldfish:!!! I can't keep her out of the pool she LOVES to swim (look out Michael Phelps) :ip:.... So are there other "Yorkafish" out there ?

Gracie Ruth's never been around a pool before, but she LOVES to run through the sprinkler. :D She'd probably love a pool too.

ill find out this summer my mother in law has a pool, and can't wait to see if axel likes it, he loves the bathtub so i think he will! I run the water for his bath and he goes nuts trying to jump in.

Never tried the spriklers..... i am going to give that a shot this summer.

That is great he likes the bath. It is funny Pepper only likes the bath if i am in it and then she has to get in with a ball in her mouth. She hates shower / bath time. lol :animal36

I keep all 3 of them short in the summer it gets REALLY hot here. But they all are really soft when they get out of the pool then i use a foam conditioner for their hair and skin. :cool:

I have a pool but have been to scared to let Bailey get in. I'm so afraid she will drown.

The first time i let Pepper near the pool was with me by her side. I still supervise when she is in the pool or even by the pool. But she does know were the stairs are and how to get out that was the first thing i did teach her.

I can't wait to throw Farrah in the pool this summer! And the bay and the river...maybe even the ocean on a calm day. I hope she likes the boat too!!!
As far as the bath, she is fine until I wash her face. Hates it. LOL!!!

I have 2 Yorkiefish! :) I got them lifejackets and taught them where the stairs are because I can't keep them out of the pool! They jump in on their own! :D Its sooo cute! I have no good pics of them in the pool on my work computer. I'll try to remember to come back later to post some! :)

Lola & Lea both love the water, Lola loves to swim in the ocean and both adore the pool. I take them to a friends house who has a built in pool with stairs and they jump in and out all day. I love to watch them splash around and have fun:)

YES ~ Jackson DIVES into my dad's backyard in ground swimming pool! He loves it. In fact I just bought him a lifevest today so he can last even longer in the pool because he will tire himself out.

He also *loves* any ocean, lake, any body of water really, hahah. He's my water boy.

Just remember even though you taught them where the stairs are, if they fall in, they will panic and may not find the stairs. Always supervise them or have a gate or fence around the pool. So many sad stories of small doggies who know how to swim drowning when they wander into the pool area alone and just panic and their little leggies wear out before they find their bearings. Ted has been taught how to swim, find the stairs, and has a life vest; yet I had a gate built due to the sad stories I read. With summer coming up we all need to never, ever take for granted that our wee ones can swim. They're not safe unless we're there with them. Take extra precautions this Summer and have fun. xo

She's alot older now and I don't have a yard anymore but my girl LOVED LOVED LOVE the sprinkler - She'd even get it off the hanger herself

Great advice and sooooo true! I never ever let my boys out when I am not out with them, even if the kids are out with them. You just never know! The kids are good though, they immediately grab their life vests when they go out with them and put them on them. There are pics in my album of my boys in the pool! They are too funny!

I totally agree. When I was doing rescue in AZ we did not let people adopt if they had a pool unless they had an alarm system on the gate. I personally know of two that drown.

Pann and Artemis haven't been thru summer yet but im sooo excited for it. they love love love water they love the tub jumping in and out of the shower and bath and when it's raining they freak out! they want to go outside and play in it! :rolleyes:
