Just posting this - terrible accident.... My 'daughter lives close to me - small town - up in the 'pickies', north of Toronto, Canada. I had posted last week about fishers (in the muskrat family) getting some cats around here, they are very vicious. Her husband has a trapper license, and he had set a trap to catch some if he could. He put the traps up in trees and somehow one of the traps fell down and they found their springer spaniel in it - he was dead. My two grandkids were there at the time (4 and 6 years old)...just wanted to share - it has been an awful night..... |
Sorry to hear this prayers for you and your family xo |

Idon't think the kids have totally comprehended yet, but my son in law is devastated. He feels he is to blame since he set the trap. I was over there today, and I saw him outside wiping his eyes...it is just so horrible - Chester was only 4, and he was always outside playing with the kids - he just never stopped - he could take huge leaps, amazing everyone how far! You wonder why these things happen. |
I'm sure he feels terrible. It's just so sad. It will take him a long time to get over it, too. Just keep telling him it was an accident. No one can see into the future and everyone makes mistakes.:( |
You are so right - but today, here in Canada it is 75 degrees+ and sunny and even I can't not think how Chester would have been....losing an animal is unbelievable hurtful and traumatic - I would still love to hold my Toffee again - take her camping - see her little face...... |
