He's chewing everything! I love my little guy so much...but he is chewing the furniture and now even the walls!! It doesn't really bother me that much because it's only minor damage at this point, but it is making my husband furious! I have to watch him so closely and never let him leave my sight. Because of this we also can't let him roam the house duriing the day when we are not home like I would like for him to be able to. Is this something they grow out of, or will he always do this? |
How old is Rucker? Is he a puppy still? Does he have things to chew? |
Maybe you could try some bully sticks. Bitter apple spray can help too. Sorry you are having problems. They usually out grow these things, but it takes work and time. I would find things that he likes to chew, bully sticks, antlers anything safe, and of course confine him to a small area or x-pen until you can trust him. |
we're still suffering with this we've got holes int the walls from his chewing and our couch arms are a mess =/ try bully sticks, some member really like them, Pann didn't care for them. Instead I give Pann pig ears and hooves to avert his chewing and it has helped a tremendous amount especially the hooves, they last forever and they're cheap and hard and an awesome chew toy. I've also heard bitter spray helps. For us nothing but the hooves and ears worked. good luck!:animal-pa |
Rucker is 5 months old. Where do I find bully sticks?? In the treat section? |

There a a couple members here that sell bully sticks!! They are great for chewers!! If you have a good dog boutique near your house they will likely have them! |
He's a baby, and he's of the age where he's losing his baby teeth and cutting his adult teeth. He will chew on ANYthing at this stage. Get him toys to chew ... the bully sticks that were mentioned are good and should keep him occupied for a bit. Mine also liked the nylon teething toys, like the bone - and especially the keys. They're flavored, and the dogs like them. Get him things he CAN chew - lots of choices - and he won't chew the things he's not supposed to. He's just a baby ... |
