We had a Brick Wall they they just jumped over. They can jump. Here, in Illinois we have a 5 foot aluminum pole fence and they can jump that from a stand still. We live next to a Forest Preserve (connects to our back yard), so we are always vigilant. Always let the large dog out first to "clear the area". We never let the Yorkie out alone. My wife of I always go out when she is out, even in the rain, sleet, and snow!
A Cane Corso is a rare breed that comes from Southern Italy where they are used as Guardians on Farms to keep the critters and bad guys away. They are not for everyone, and need a ton of early socialization and training. They can be dog agressive, and usually are close only to immediate family, and leery of everyone else. My guy loves everyone, especially the little kids and the elderly...is a great guardian, and the protector of the Little Yorkie. He always goes out when she does, and just stands there looking and watching. He is 125 pounds of Scoobie Doo, but he is a terrific friend. |
