scary moments ide like to know everyones scary moments with there baby mine isnt even 4 months yet so were still on the tiny side of scary moments but heres mine Penny was sleeping on my bed so I decided to sneak out and get some banana bread ( her FAV treat ) I just wanted one piece all to myself. I got off the bed and crept out all stealth mood and quietly latched the door. Im in the kitchen cutting my bread enjoying my victory and i look down to shush the two black meowing blobs at my feet ( they like banana bread to ) as im enjoying my first piece i happen to glane down again and see three black blobs instead of two. Pennys sitting there between the cats " Hi mom plan on sharing that "? I nearly passed out my 3 lb 3 month old puppy jumped of my bed to find me ...my bed is on RISERS too its about 2-3 feet off the ground...my little sneek attack snack almost earned me a puppy with a broken leg..or worse |
i would have to say that my scariest moment was at the vet when i found out Gatsby had to have a transfusion he was so weak and the vet is telling me that if he dose not have a transfusion tonight he will be dead by tomorrow afternoon it was a Thursday i do not get paid until Friday at midnight and of course she wanted payment up front and her total was $500 i had to go to the emergency clinic and payed $700 but they gave me a week to get it all paid and i had to have nothing up front it was a blessing |
With Smokey, it was mostly the couple times he bolted out the door or found ways to escape. He's an escape artist and if you aren't constantly on your toes, he'll find a way out. Chip has had a few scary moments. The 3 or 4 vaccine reactions he had that led him to be hospitalized twice. And the time he jumped out of my cousin's arms on to concrete and he couldn't walk or put weight on it for about 15 minutes and was crying. Then there was the time I dropped my medicine all over the floor.... trying to keep two dogs away and pick up all the medicine all around me is kind of difficult. I thought Chip ate one so I induced vomiting immediately to be on the safe side. He didn't swallow any, thank goodness. |
This was so scarey for me and DH.....he accidently tossed her out of our bed on the the hard wood floor, I believe she landed on her head:( I picked her up she was out cold, I thought.....well you know. I put my slippers and coat on and insisted I was going to the ER. DH insisted I call the 24/7 animal hospital as we were in the middle of a blizzard, then she started to open her eyes. The vet said to keep an eye on her for the next few hours. I didn't take my eyes off her for the next 6 hours. I think I made her paranoid. |
All i can say is the most terrifying moment for me was when we had just gotten Bailey She was super tiny I think she was .8 lbs at around 14 weeks my boyfriend and I were taking shifts staying up for a few hours at a time with her but he decided to put her in her kennel for a few hours and sneak a nap. We woke up pulled her out of the kennel and she looked dead her eyes were blinking but her whole tiny body couldnt move. She couldnt even hold her head up. We had experience with hypo but NEVER like this. It was the most terrifying day ever! Thank the Lord we made it to the vet in time and Bailey is a happy healthy 3 lbs and 3 years now! |
Mine was last night. Lily and Max were working on their chewies. She must have gotten a piece of it stuck in her throat because all of a sudden I look at her and she's frozen stiff and choking. I pick her up and she starts to squeal in panic after trying to cough it up doesn't work. I gave her back blows, I turned her over like an infant in attempt to do the heimlich. Her gums weren't as pink as they could be...I did a finger sweep a couple of times but didn't feel anything. I got desperate in a panic and gave her some rescue breaths. The whole time I could feel her little heart racing away so I figured she was ok. Between all the things I tried or her trying to cough it up, it got dislodged. Let me tell you.....I resuscitate infants all the time at work but I've never felt the panic that I experienced last night! |
Scariest moment... oh you mean 1??? LOL Dexter choking, he's always choking on something. My mom saved him once because I went in full panic mode. Im much more geared to handle it now, but I thought I would lose him if I tried to get him to the vet and she took control (she was visiting) and saved him by jamming her fingers up under his ribs and the treat popped out. now I break everything in small pieces for him and warn everyone else to also. My SCARIEST moment with Fletcher was taking my boys to VA to visit my little bro, he was being deployed to Iraq and we made a last min decision to visit him, so my other brother & I drove down with my 2 dogs and his dog. 16 hour drive to get there, well we went out to a really neat bar/club while there one night, dogs safely packed into my bros apt while we were gone. We came back at like 2am with some of his friends, everyone drunk and hanging out. I finally passed out in a sleeping bag with my 2 boys IN the bag with me. I woke up to someone knocking on the glass slider above my head. I look up and a woman and a guy were standing there holding Fletcher, OUTSIDE!!! I jumped up (sooo hung over I wanted to puke) and opened the door, she says "Is this your dog? I thought I saw you come in yesterday with him. He was under a car in the parking lot." He was 11 months old!!!! I was 900miles from home. I was CRYING and thanking her and him to no end!!! Someone must have left after I went to bed and he got out when they opened the door. OMG I wanted to KILL someone. I feel that I (and him) had a guardian angel that day. I am very cautious with him, but he has gotten out of BFs yard a few times too, we found him quickly though those times. |

In the middle of the night that I moved and stretched out in bed and the next thing I heard was a thud off the foot of the bed! Thank heaven I have carpet in the bedroom. She was fine, but I was wide awake from stark fear for a loooooooong time. |

One time she jumped off the footbed of our sleigh bed. So it goes up higher than the mattress which is already pretty high. As she leaped off, i watched in slow motion it seemed,, ready to hear her bones break. But nope, landed on the carpet like a cat and just walked off. i scolded her big time though, and she hasn't done it since. |
About five days ago I was in a crappy mood fighting with the bf, had a migraine, and was just crying all day long  the bf took the trash out and left the front door open. We live in a duplex the bottom so we have like three front doors he managed to leave them all open! We didn't notice for 15 minutes!!!! The bf asked me wheres Pann? his twin then announced that oh shiznick the front door open. Panic followed Pann had had a bath earlier in the day and didn't have his harness or collar with his ID on it or anything! I ran outside to find Artemis had made friends with some girls walking down the street and were calling us thanks to her ID and Pann was busy terrorizing a HUGE German Shepard that thank god wasn't interested in him! Scariest thing ever thank god no one was hurt tho, and every one got home safe. The bf survived too :p |
The scariest moment would be Sugar tried to jump on the couch to reach my 3 year old niece, Sugar was only 4 mths old weight 0.5lbs, the couch was too high for her, she fell down and landed on her head! I witnessed it all, I was shocked, including my niece she was about to cry, but Sugar was all fine, the next second she tried to jump on the couch again  |
There are a couple. One was when she was a puppy and ran out the front door and ran all around the neighborhood with 5 people trying to get her back. Another time was when she dashed out my uncle's door in WV and ran up and huge hill in a place un known to us and thank god she has learned not to do that! Another time was when she hurt her front leg the first time and was limping and crying and we rushed her to the ER vet at 2:00am. |
