Dog Parks What are your guys' experiences with dog parks? I really would love to bring Owen to one. |
While I don't have an answer for you, I am just as curious. I wonder about other pet owners having their pets vaccinated, etc....I am also afraid that my baby would pick up more fleas than I care for....can't wait to read what other's post!!! |
I love taking mine to the dog park... I will only go to ones with a separate area for small dogs. But we have had nothing but good experiences with them, my dogs love meeting new friends and getting a chance to really stretch their legs. |
I live in a small town and most everyone has a big enough yard for their animals to play. However, we do alot of traveling and that is where my interest in dog parks comes in to play. I had not even considered one having a special section for small dogs. Thank you for posting. You helped me out for sure! |
We like the small dog parks. |
My yorkie LOVES the dog park. All of the playing and running really wears her out! |
We don't have a dog park where I live, so we take Neo to the one in Gulf Shores (about 20 minutes away). It's not very large, but it does have a seperate area for small dogs. This is about the only way Neo gets any socialization any more since we fenced in our back yard last week. It's his own private dog park!:p |
Love, love, LOVE our dog park. We go a lot during warm weather (3x a week usually). We have 2 parks near me and both have a small/big dog sectioned off. One of the parks costs $40 for a yearly pass (there's other things there besides dog park, it's a big state park) or $6 each time, the other park is free. The one you pay for is definitely better and there's always more dogs there but the free one is nice as well and sometimes you get lucky and get a lot of small dogs. I dunno what I would do without it. Jackson loves to go as he's a social butterfly with other dogs. Sometimes he runs a LOT and other times he just likes to mingle, sniff and pee. We went for the first time when he was maybe around 6 months old? I'm so glad I found the parks though. If for some reason there's no other dogs in the park, there's also a dog beach and tons of hiking trails. There is constantly other yorkies there. I usually see at least one other while there! Overall, I've had GREAT experiences at the dog park and even made great friends, both human and canine. :) |
We took Morgan to the dog park for the first time last weekend and she LOVED it! She loved chasing the people and dogs and wore herself out for the rest of the weekend. The park we went to has a small and large dog park. Morgan would probably rather be in the large dog one, but she was lucky last weekend that there was a black lab puppy in the small dog one that she made friends with. |
Jonah & Chloe love Sun City dog park We have just returned from a winter in Palm Desert Ca, and they have the most lovely dog park. Ours in Colorado are mostly dirt and water and don't separate the little ones, but this one has green grass, is mostly clean and people pick up or if they don't others take care of it. The variety of dogs we saw during our 2 months was amazing! There were some personality conflicts between the dogs as well as people that frequented the park but for the most part it was fun for all. And I know the pups really miss it now that they are home.:) |
