Homecoming suggestions for husband We are taking our new 12 week old baby home tomorrow. My husband is worried about taking care of our him, both during the trip home and bedtime. He is also worried that he won't eat. My hubby is concerned that our baby will miss his mommy and siblings and will not adapt well to his new home. After weeks of reading everything I can find, I feel comfortable about the homecoming, but can't quite pass that on to my husband. We lost our 16 year old angel in December so he can't remember the early baby years. Does anyone have any suggestions for my hubby? Our new baby comes from a wonderful breeder. |
Oh, that is touching that he is so concerned about your new baby. Maybe you could give your breeder a "secret" call and she could help put your husband at ease with the situation so he won't worry so when you go to pick up the new baby.:) |

I agree! What will really help, is seeing the baby for the first time and looking in those eyes and know that all will be okay. I hope all goes well!:) |
12 weeks it a healthy age for pup's to leave their mom's and siblings. I brought home my 1st two yorkies at 12 weeks and they did very well. Sounds like your puppy will be spoiled with love an affection on the ride home. Puppys are so loving, comforting and clingy at that age so just give hubby first dibs on bonding and he will feel amazing! Good Luck to all and look forward to picks of baby puppy:) |
Have a safe trip! We got Teddy last year when Barney and Daisy were 9 years old -- when we got Teddy home we too realized how we had forgotten the baby years. We love Teddy to pieces but we sure remembered how nice our adult, trained, calm dogs were! Would not trade Teddy for the world. He's starting puppy class for the third time very soon!! The trainer says he will always meet the entry requirements LOL |
