New puppy owner. Ugh! I am a brand new Yorkie Poo mix (mostly Yorkie it seems!) puppy owner, first dog since I was a kid and first puppy ever! Buster is just over 15 weeks and I am going nuts!!! This is so much harder than I anticipated. He is very very stubborn. Joined this site to get desperately needed help and make friends! Will go search forums to find answers to my zillions of questions. |
Welcome to YT! You'll find lots of useful information here  |
:wavey: Hello and Welcome! I know it's not easy being a first time puppy owner, but you have to remember it takes a lot of patience. I have had a few puppies over the years and they were all different. By reading the forums on YT, you will obtain so much information on how to raise your baby. It makes life a whole lot easier when you gain the knowledge needed to raise a puppy. Don't be afraid to ask all the questions you want. Take care and enjoy your new addition.;) |
Welcome! Yes, they are like babies and later toddlers! Just like the human kind, puppies take lots of time and patience. You'll have the love of your life as a reward!;) |
I got my 2 yorkies are pups in August. They will be a year old May 10th. It is a challenge and the chewing of my furniture is what pisses me off. I still love them unconditionally though! |
Welcome to YT, you will love it here, everyone is so knowledgeable...I would be in trouble without them..lol...sorry your having a hard time, I can relate... I am so glad for me, to hear some of you are alil frustrated at times, with your munchkins. I am sorry to hear you are, but was starting to wonder if it was just me? I love them to pieces, but this last week, has been very trying on me...going from one to two, I thought would be easier, they have each other, and in some respects it is, but in others NO!!... |
Welcome!! You will find lots of helpful advice here. You are not alone, I think we all through times of frustration with our furbabies, just as I imagine people do with their skin-kids.:) I know I certainly have. |
Oh, yes, you will second guess your decision more than once (I know that I did) but TRUST ME its gets easier. I am SOOOOO GLAD that I didn't give up. Soon, your baby will learn the rules of the house and become part of the family. Good luck! Two good books - Yorkshire for Dummies; House Training for Dummies. Lots of other good books - but these two are all you'll need (as well as YT, of course). Welcome to YT |
welcome Welcome! Having a puppy is very hard... It is just as hard as having a baby or toddler - and babies and toddlers don't chew through your furniture and shoes on a daily basis. However, with this, it is just as rewarding. Chloe came home between 12 & 13 weeks and she was very sad. She missed her mom and brother and cried alot. I have four children and she disrupted our schedule... but I was well prepared for that. Once she got over the shyness she became a destroyer... her favorite tool - toilet paper. My girls like to leave TP on the floor of their bathroom and she would shred those rolls like crazy. Then came the wires that scared the crap out of me as one of my bulldogs electrocuted herself and she passed. She is now 20 weeks and has calmed down alot. She still has alot of puppy in her, but it really has calmed down and she is fitting in with our family perfectly. Good luck and hang in there, it does get better! |
Welcome. The people here are a great help. Good luck and hang in there it gets better with time. |
