Tank's breeder uses a spray bottle on the dogs, and when we got Tank, she showed us how well it works. It could definitely be a worthwhile investment! I use a little blue squirt gun, haha. I will say "shh!" or "quiet!", and if that doesn't work, they get water. It's a great, nonviolent way to get your point across. There are also zapper collars (we have one, and have used it - it's really not that bad, my husband has played, yes played with it before) and muzzles that you could try...I think the water is my favorite though. It will really surprise them when they're making all that racket and get a face full of water! |
Thanks I am going to try the water thing hopefully that will work |
My dog Lilo was a barker (and still is at the park) and i used a can with pennies in it. It worked like a charm, snapped her right out of the barking. |

My Uni used to bark a lot all the time, it was just bc she wanted attention. We instead trained her to growl on cue. She barks, we say no! and point at her and give her the evil eye. We keep doing it if she barked again. Once she got the point, she would growl out of frustration. She knew we didn't allow her to bark, so to show us she was mad she would growl. Now, about 90% of the time, if she wants something she will just whine or growl. Unless of course we are outside playing, then it is lots of barking, but that is allowed. |
