You need to go with your gut feeling here. I was a little shocked about her sleeping on towels or dirty clothes. You have your other babies to consider.
There is probably a good reason you are having doubts. And it sounds like she is a barker. Good luck either way you decide.

I think she have her regular shots, just not rabies...which I thought is MANDATORY after age of 4 months...I will talk to her and definitely update for more advice. I won't make an impulsive and irrational buy (don't mean for her to sound like an object) as I know better. Thanks you guys!

Then I would advise you not even go see her. Once there...your heart will over run your brain when you have a sweet, cute puppy in front of you. At least the lady is being truthful about her. Do you know how many people lie about the dogs weight, barking, health, etc...just to sell it?

I do hope a good pet home grabs her up before someone with only money on their minds see her price and finds out she is not spayed. I hope you do take her and get her spayed and give her a good home. If you were able to train your other dogs to not bark and potty where they should..you should be able to work with Vanilla. She is still a puppy. And yes..she may get a bit bigger. Some yorkies are done growing at 8 months..some are not.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

I know this must be hard. Vanilla is so cute. I hope she is a good fit for you. Ask lots of questions and don't hesitate to walk away empty handed. Sometimes are emotions get the best of us.

She paid $2500 for a puppy and knows no information about her parents? That's a bit odd I think. Did she not see them? Does she not have her registration papers?

I have been asking endless questions...but I feel like she's getting irritated...She keeps asking if I'm a breeder and stuff.

She does have the registration papers, and I do feel it odd that she didn't see the parents either. I have seen both mothers of my current babies, so it's a little hard to believe.

She's not a breeder...she's rehoming her puppy that she got 5 months ago. :confused:

If she is getting irritated at your questions, walk away! There is a reason she doesn't want you to know the answers! I find it hard to believe she paid $2500.00 for a dog she wasn't planning to breed!

You would be buying Vanilla on just HER word, as you haven't seen parents nor do you know ANYTHING about the TRUE vaccinations of this dog or the dogs background! I would walk away!

"Sorry for all the back and forth. I never thought selling a dog would be so complex. :) I never saw the parents. I bought her from a lady named Cathy white. Her web site is yorkiestolove.comshe got her from a breeder in MI and then sold her to me. It was a trade and this lady in MI owed her a dog.

There was no health guarantee, I don't think. I'll have to look in her file when I get

I'm selling her as is I am going to the vet on friday to get some arthritis meds for my old dog. I can see if he will look at her and write something down. It will cost me $45 though. Will that work? He is closed on the weekend. I would need reinversed for the dr appt though.

How does that sound?"

I am asking you guys because I may not be rational because I really want her. Plus, you guys are so much more experience :D Thanks a bunch!

So, she paid $2500.00 for a dog that went through two different breeders prior to her obtaining her?;):rolleyes:

Could you ask her for the name of her vet and permission to speak to the vet for her records???

That way you would know if there was something the vet found that is going to be expensive down the line.

If she get irritated with questions, I'd avoid the whole situation.

Not sure how much good that would do considering this dog has changed hands a few times!

Sweetie this is the first I'm seeing your thread. I got to tell you $500 is an awesome price for her! I paid that for my rescue puppy and still did all the shots and spay. I recommend you look at this like you're getting a rescue but minus the health exam. How much were you looking to spend? I agree with the others if you go just to see her, you're gonna love her and get her no matter what so decide if it's right for you and go from there. For my two cents...I hope you get her. She needs to be treated like a yorkie should be treated! Can't wait to see what you decide :D Good Luck!!!

What's the name of the rescue where you got your Yorkie? Unfortunately not all rescues are legitimate, and some are just selling puppies, many millers run rescues. Most rescues will have the puppy spayed and always the shots would be given before being rehomed. I hope I'm not offending you, but I think it's important that we all know what the millers are doing.

Yeah, I'm just afraid that she might come with health problems. I guess I will check her out...but I don't know what to do, she said she will get vet check for $45 so if I don't get it I'd feel bad...I guess I have to make a decision FAST. :confused:

That is a hard call that only you can make. Follow your instincts. If it doesn't feel right there is a reason for that. The perfect dog for you is out there.

Oh Lord...please move on from this cr@p! If this is not a reputable breeder...(:rolleyes:) or a reputable rescue group...why do you want to do this?

And IF you do take this dog...PLEASE do yourself & this dog a favor and INSURE it asap so, you don't get stuck with the Vet future expenses that you'll surely have to look forward to! ;)-;)

She may be unaware like other yorkie owners that don't know this site? My bf says check her out and ask for vet referral. I will continue to update.

If you're seriously looking to add to your canine family in a responsible manner than I urge you to take a look at all the reputable Rescue groups out there and make a selection from any one of them!

Are you wanting to breed this girl in the future?

If not..I don't see the problem here. She is not asking a fortune...and the puppy is very cute and needs a good pet home. She is getting her vet checked out first..correct? As long as the puppy checks out...what's the problem if you really like her?

Please do not make a rush decision. That will not be fair to the little dog.

As far as health problems...you take that chance with any dog/puppy you buy, adopt, or find. You have to be prepared finacially for any type of medical problems or emergencies. They could occur at anytime in the life of a dog from the moment you bring that dog home...especially a yorkie who is well known for the possible developement of many serious health problems.

I know a few people (some on this very board) who have purchased dogs for much more $...from people who show thier yorkies, and who led many to believe they were reputable breeders. They have many serious problems with their yorkies and never expected it. And no help was offered by these breeders. It happens in all levels of breeders. From the very top...all the way down to the puppymills.

If you were wanting to breed this dog...then please look else where. She is a cute pet. Nothing more...nothing less. And IMO...she diserves a good home just like all the dogs produced by reputable breeders and all the dogs in rescue's and shelters.

Every breeder has occasional problems, but it depends how the breeder handles those problems that makes him or her reputable. Being well known isn't the same as being reputable. This breeder is selling the puppy "as is", no reputable breeder would ever say that, and I believe this breeder knows of some problem. The initial $500.00 isn't much, but one health problem will substantially raise the price, to say nothing of the emotional investments.

To the OP, someone suggested insurance, but most insurance companies would not cover existing conditions. If you are on a budget, this is a very risky purchase. I agree with those who say go to a legitmate rescue, you will know what health risks you might face.

Heck no, I've chatted on here about her before. I don't believe either of my yorkies came from reputable rescues...Bijou (puppy) came from Scottish Terrier Club of Greater New York and Barley (adult when adopted)came from K9Lifesavers. I've talked a length on here about how I feel they were not lagit. Barley was very sick when we got him and extremely skinny and Bijou was too young and well the foster was a complete witch to us. So it'd doesn't offend me at all.

From what I'm seeing of this ad on this dog is a "re-home". So that's different and now she's offering to take the dog to the vet for a health check. I'm just saying if she's looking to simply adopt a yorkie that needs a home, this is very reasonable. That's just my opinion though but I'd love to see this pup get a loving home it sounds like she's missing.

That is the way I see it as well. But since this is a parti...some here feel she is not worthy of a good home. So sad...

If this was a traditional yorkie...and I have seen it time and time again on these boards..most if not all posters would be yelling for the OP to save that baby. FACT!
