I agree, everyone wants a new little puppy. Someone please! |
I see no reason you should be banned for this, it just shows that you have a heart. The sad thing is, how many others live like this? |
He looks so sad! That's terrible! |
You mean these pics are from a YT member's album!!!! OHG what are they thinking. He looks so sad in his pictures.:( And he is an adorable pup, bless his little heart. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE. |
OMG! That poor little baby! How could anyone put a puppy in a cage like that? He looks so sad. Maybe the owner needs to give him up. |

sorry to be the voice of reason but maybe we should ask the person who owns the dog why it is in the crate maybe all the pics are taken on the same day and she had not cleaned the rust off yet in general i agree this seems wrong and neglectful |

Hopefully, some help can be given to the YT member of this puppy. I went back and read her posts and unfortunately it sounds like this little guy is spending most of his time in that cage because he has a problem with biting! I also see in another post she bought him with intention of breeding him with her Maltese! :( As far as the biting, I think the dog is in need of training & socialization for sure! I'm not an expert, so I hope others can weigh in here! |

i also agree that this person to be made aware that the rusty pen isn't safe. adn the pictures can be taken the wrong way. |

I don't think crating is cruel. It's a great way to potty train a dog and a lot of dogs love their crate. It's a safe haven for them, their "den." However, if this dog is spending ALL of it's time in it's crate... that's really terrible. :( I don't think a dog should be left in a crate for more than 4-6 hours tops. |

I looked at these pictures and I agree it does look bad,, but in looking closer, it looks like it is an ex pen that he is in. The rust cannot be healthy tho. From reading the owners post, it seems like she is young and in need of some guidance. I don't get the impression that she is intentionally mistreating the puppy in any way.. just that she has no idea how to train him. |

She has a post up where she has asked for some help in training ideas, he is a bitter! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...my-yorkie.html Maybe if you have a suggestion on a bitter that worked for you, you could post it in that tread or even a privet message. I read the post and looked at the photos, I did not get the impression that this puppy is being mistreated, she just needs ideas on how to get him not to be a bitter. |

I don't like the use of a crate as punishment though. I don't think they should view their crate as a bad place. |
An Xpen is not to bad, as long as they aren't in it the majority of the time, some find it is good for training, I don't think rust is a very good thing at all though. I hope the little guy gets through the biting phase soon. |
For young puppy biters... if they are not getting your language... use their language... act like their birthmom and growl at them. Experiment till you find the type of growl that makes them stop in their tracks... and then teach them English, or whatever language you prefer... works especially well with pups who were not allowed to stay with their birthmoms till 12 weeks... and others too! :D Change pitch of growl (high to low) and change volume until the expected response is achieved. |

I am sure if whoever it is was mistreating her puppy she wouldn't put pics on here to show that fact off. I do feel sometimes that on this forum some people jump to conclusions. As for the biting, yes it has to be stopped but it is a play thing to puppies, its how they play with their siblings. Alfie never bit me but certainly mouthed, meaning he just6 put his mouth around my fingers but never clamped his teeth together. He does it ocassionaly even now when he is excited but a 'no' stops him straight away. I suppose it doesn't help that my German Shepherds mouth each other when they play, thats how German Shepherd's play very vocal too! Before I had dogs i thought crates were cruel but I have used them for all 3 of mine and they love to go in them whenever they want, their crate doors are open so they can have some time to themselves when they want. The rust was distrubing on the pics but it doesn't mean to say the puppy is being neglected. These crates aren't cheap, well not here in the UK anyway. A crate is not a form of punishment. My yorkie doesn't sleep in his at night anymore, he has wormed his way into our bed :). The German Shepherd puppy stays in hers at night because she can't be trusted just yet not to gnaw at something in the kitchen that she shouldn't. If anyone is that concerned why don't they private message the person and offer advice? |
