what is the difference?? What is the difference between a yorkie, biewer and parti? Just wondering..... |
AKC papers |

Oh and biewers have tails. ;) There are standard colored yorkies and parti colored yorkies. Both can be AKC registered. Partis are considered to have a color fault per YTCA and can't compete in AKC confirmation events. Biewers orginated in Germay in 84, were imported to the US in 2003 and as yet are not recognized by AKC. They are recognized in other countries and can be shown in rare breed shows here in the US. |
I meant in appearance... |
The biewers have a standard--4 white legs, at least the tip of the tail white, the chest is white and 3 colors in the face--which makes them so much prettiers imho. |

I think the problem with these types of threads are that people are truly asking questions, trying to get clear answers....and then it takes one person getting upset with things not being written as they feel it should be. Then, as we have all seen....it goes from a question to arguing pretty quickly. Again, this was not my intentions....I was just answering her. |
What breed is the Biewer? I have what is called a golden. She is beautiful, and I was told goldens are legit and AKC registered. Mine is registered AKC - not that it matters to me. I love ALL DOGS, whether mutt or pedigree. They all love the same. l0l |

since the pedigrees list them as being Yorkshire Terriers and since their orgin is in Germany maybe that is where they need to be registered someone smarter than me will have to figure that one out. But i do understand that show people would like to be inc. in akc shows |
The Biewers as their own breed are competing in the rare show breed rings. While the Parti, golden, may be AKC registered, they cannot compete in any showrings and are specifically described as faults. |

I beleive that the Biewer Yorkies and Parti Yorkies are exactly the same dog.. they are both just a tri colored Yorkshire Terrier.. just a plain old every day yorkshire terrier with a color variation caused by a recessive gene.. that simple.. the German ones just bark with a slight accent. If you don't dock the Parti tails.. they would also have a tail.. imagine! If you breed two Parti yorkies that have the Irish spotting pattern together instead of ones that have the Piebald gene together.. you would start getting the same patterning that is in the Biewer standard instead of the random patterning created by the Piebald gene.. I believe Mr. Biewer saw that and bred accordingly. I have a Parti that looks exactly like my Biewers.. down to the white tip at the end of his undocked tail. You maynot agree.. but give yourselves some time.. I bet you'll get here eventually... but I'm not going to argue with you if you don't. Diana :animal-pa |

The Biewer are a separate breed only because the German registries allowed them to call themelves a separate breed. The AKC does not recognize them as a separate breed, nor do they allow them to be registered as yorkies because their parents are not registered as yorkies. I think The parti colored yorkies can be registered with APRI and shown in their shows, they just cannot be shown at AKC shows because the parti color is considered a fault. But if you leave out the registries, and go with the genetics, they are all tri colored yorkies. Biewers have a color standard, but I imagine there are Biewers born that do not meet that standard, just as there are traditional colored yorkies born that do not meet the standard. |
a touch off topic...but...I used to think that partis and biewers shouldn't be bred, because they weren't the "yorkie standard"...but you know what? after quite a bit of research and thought, it's come to my attention that it's just colors, pretty much...it's dog racism in my opinion, and if I feel that racism is bad, then wouldn't the dog version be just as bad? They're all cute!!! |
