Question..Please help 1 Attachment(s) I may go purchase a yorkie today. She is 18months old & weighs 3lbs. I wanted to know is she will still get bigger or is this probably her full size? Also, I wanted to make sure she is all yorkie & not a silky or something so I am attaching a picture...Please tell me what you think, I'm so scared of purchasing her & her not being a yorkie or getting very big. THANK YOU EVERYONE! Melissa |
Welcome to YT! She is a cutie pie! Did you end up picking her up today? At 18 months old, she is probably nearly at her full grown weight. If she really is 3 lbs, she'll probably stay around that size or maybe a little bigger-I'd say she's probably going to stay under 4 lbs. However, the yorkie in the picture looks bigger than that...are you sure that's the one you're getting? I just hate to see breeders advertise "tinies" and then the dogs end up being younger/a different size from what you think they're going to be and then people get taken. Is there a reason that you want such a small dog? If this is your first yorkie you may want to opt for one that is slightly larger until you're familiar with exactly how to care for the breed, remember that 4-7 lbs is the standard size. The yorkies who are a little hardier tend to be healthier and you won't have as many worries about things like hypoglycemia or them jumping off furniture. Granted those are ALWAYS things to watch for, but it tends to be of greater concern in the tinies. |
