Won't Sleep Through The NIGHT! Good afternoon everyone, Last night Bella would wake up every 45 minutes... she is puppy pad trained so she can just go the the bathroom. This is the first night she has done this. She is on her same food schedule and is feeling better. I don't know how to stop her from yelping and waking up. I know she is a puppy and I am used to puppies waking but but thats due to the fact that they need to poo or pee. She has her water, puppy pee pad, and her bed in a fenced in area. I need this is stop because I need sleep and I don't want to disturb the neighbors which could be a potential serious problem if she continues barking.:thumbdown Please help! Thanks Yorkie parents!:animal-pa |
Where or what is she sleeping in? |
I know some people don't believe in but I do so... :rolleyes:why don't you let her sleep with you? My baby sleeps peacefully everynight and so do I because she is comfy and cozy in the bed with me. I only have one Yorkie and plan to only have one, so it doesn't bother me at all. Put her in the bed and she will probably jump for joy, give you plenty of kisses, then curl up next to you and pass out! |
Yesterday you posted that she is only 9 wks old and weighs only 1 lb 2 oz and that she has only been with you 3 days. She should have stayed with her mom until she was at least 12 wks old. She is very tiny and very young. Do you have her next to your bed or in a different room? Perhaps she is getting cold. She is probably missing her mom and siblings as well. It's going to take patience to deal with one that young and you will have to make allowances because of her very young age, the fact that she has only been there with you for a few days, and her very small size. Something is wrong and you will need to figure it out and work with her. If her xpen or whatever you have her in is not next to your bed, I would certainly suggest at least moving it there. I really can't believe a 9 wk old puppy is paper trained already. |

I took my puppy home at 9 weeks, and she was fine. (she's now 4 months) Having said that, you can't put her in a different room when she is that young, and you've had her her for such a short period of time, so of course she is crying. I put Ave in a basket beside my bed for the first few nights, and she eventually started sleeping with me. She now starts the night off sleeping with me, and when she starts getting wiggly, I put her in her little bedtime crate in my room. I take her out of it opnce during the night to her pee pad, and then back to bed. If she's 9 weeks-- how the heck is she getting up herself during the night to pee?! |
