Newby and Parti ? I have a 3 year old traditional yorkie. I am in the process of getting a new puppy. The puppy that I am getting is CKC registered. He is currently white, black and brown (which I think is called parti). The breeders are fairly new breeders and didn't know that they had a parti gene. Traditional yorkies change colors as they grow. Does a parti stay a parti? |
I'm assuming you mean the Continental Kennel Club, not the legitimate Canadian Kennel Club. My guess is he may be a mixed breed; the CKC will register mixes, and need no sort of proof to call it a purebred. Have you seen the mama a papa? Do you know if they did any type of genetic testing? I bought a dog from a byb and he had a genetic illness from inbreeding, and was paralyzed by the age of 7, it a really heartbreaking thing to see. Yorkies have so many genetic weaknesses, it's really important to support only good breeders, and in the long run it will cost you less, and be much easier on you emotionally. If you are just looking for a pet, have you thought of a rescue, we have a rescue section here at Yorkietalk. Best of luck! |
sweet mom and papa I have seen the mom and dad. The dad looks like the base of the head might have some white. He is that silvery blue color. The mom is champane color. They said they were both black and brown when they got them. This is the breeders 2nd litter they had one that had white on it last time and two of 5 this time. This is a family that has yorkies as pets and was going to let them have just a few litters. I know the family well and they would not intentionally breed dogs that were not purebreed, but I guess if they did not know it could have happened. |
