Finally figured out how to introduce myself ! Hi everyone ! I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself and my little guy. I have been trying and trying to do this for over a week but I could not figure out how ! After looking all over the place I was just going to post a new blog but I realized that it wasn't the same thing as a forum lol. As you can see I'm still trying to figure this site out ! But anyways, my name is Janet and I'm from London, Ontario. After months and months of looking, I finally found my little furbaby ! His name is Gucci, I received him two weeks ago and I am absolutely in love with him !! :) He'll be three months this friday. He is such a smart little boy ! He went potty on the peepad on the very first day that we brought him home. It's been going great, he's had a few accidents but I guess they were my fault for not paying more attention to him. He's 0.7 lbs at 3 months, so he's on the small side. I guess I can't expect much from him yet. The only concern I've had with him is with his eating. I feed him Royal Canin babydog 30, 4 times a day, but every time I put food on his bowl he attacks the bowl before I even finish putting all of it in it ! You would think he hadn't been fed for days. He eats his food VERY fast. I don't know if he just really likes eating or if I'm not feeding him enough. Hopefully he'll stop doing this eventually. Anyways there's my introduction ! I can see there are many wonderful and helpful people on this site. I was actually considering leaving yorkie talk because I received rude comments from someone telling me to stop advertising my "rat/hamster", so that really bummed me out, because I wasn't expecting anything like that on here, but hopefully all of my future experiences on this site will be positive ones ! :) |

Sir does that a lot. He used to have problems not wanting to eat, but now it's like I can't stop him whenever I put the food down. I think he just gets really excited, or just wants to be done eating so he can continue playing :p |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk. Your little Gucci is so adorable!!! It is good he is such an avid eater at that TINY size!! Wonder why the breeder let him go at such a young age and tiny size? Just make sure the little fellow eats and stays warm up there in Canada aye..:wavey: |
Welcome to YT :) Your baby is so cute...I love his little eye brows. They just steal your heart :) |
Hi Janet, welcome to Yorkietalk! What do you mean, "I received rude comments from someone telling me to stop advertising my "rat/hamster"? Someone at YT said that to you? While we do have a few pot stirrers, we have so many wonderful people here who love Yorkies. Joey was called a rat several times, but it was usually by me, lol, when he was a puppy and put his ears back, I could have sworn one of his relatives mated with a rat! Concerning feeding, Joey's breeder recommended free feeding until the age of 6-8 months. Yorkies have growth spurts and when they are puppies their appetites vary from day to day, and many people believe in giving as much kibble as they want during this period. They don't believe that puppies can get too fat, and will only eat what is necessary. I think a little tummy on a puppy is a good thing, if they do get sick and can't eat for a couple of days, they've got a little fat to hold them over. Four times a day does seem like a good amount of food, how much do you feed each time? |
Hello and welcome to YT! It is nice to have you and your Gucci here. I am glad that you decided to stick around, I am sure you will like it here. I remember being new (well I still am) and it just takes a lil bit of time to start figuring out the different personalities of people on here. We all have different ways (words) to say things. :animal36 |

I've realized that there are lots of wonderful and helpful people on this site ! The comment was made on my profile page by this lady. I was just suprised because I didn't think anyone on this site who loved their pet would ever make negative comments about someone else's dog ! About the feeding, I was free feeding him but when I took Gucci to the vet for a checkup he told me I was over feeding, so that worried me a little. When I do feed him it seems he wants more even after he's finished all of it, because he goes back to the food bowl and lick it. He does this several times. I feed him 30 little Kibbles of Royal Canin babydog 30, 4 times a day. I don't know if this is enough ! |

This lady posted the comment on my profile page. I reported it to an admin and it got deleted :). I would never call someone else's dog ugly, that's why it bugged me a lot ! |
Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments !! I'm very glad I decided to stick around :) |
Whomever posted that on your profile was OBVIOUSLY jealous of how adorable your little Gucci is! Welcome to YT :) |
