Cerise, my little protector This past Saturday I took Cerise to our favorite walking park. We walked around and let the breeze blow through her hair. It was a beautiful morning. Then we decided to sit on a park bench like we always do. She lead me straight to it. While sitting there I noticed two much older (than me LOL) women walking their two big ugly mutts (seriously) on the walking path at a far distance. I didn't think anything of them, then I saw them turn on the path in our direction of the park. They were still at a good distance so I picked up my phone and started texting a friend. All of a sudden my little innocent baby turned into a raging Ninja and snarled and growled (showing all her baby teeth) and then leap to this big ugly black dogs head that was at my lap...to kick his butt...LOLOLOLOL!!!!! I was in shock because I didn't even realize the dogs dumb owner had let him extend from his flexi leash pass the other dog walking with him, off the path to me and my baby on the bench.!!! I grabbed Cerise from his head and she kept on fighting at him and his owner and their friends. Then the owner told her dog to come on because we weren't socialable. I told her "NO we are not! We don't want to meet your dog!" So they kept walking and Cerise jumped in my lap and kissed me, making sure I was okay  then sat back on the bench as if nothing happened. When we got up and left the park she then walked as if she was queen of the park. I was still in shock AT HER reaction! |
Honestly, it doesn't sound like the black dog was doing anything extremely wrong? Yeah, it's rude of the owner to allow the flexi lead to extend to another person without asking but if the dog was being friendly and not aggressive, I don't see the big deal but maybe that's just me. Me and Jackson are always up for meeting new friends, both doggy and people, and I would never let Jackson go lunging at another dog (unless the dog was like attacking HIM or me). I'm not saying this to be mean, as I understand it's not really responsible to let your dog approach someone w/o asking, but I would never tell someone "No! I don't wanna socialize with you!" And personally, I don't think any dog should be called straight up an ugly mutt. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... I find a lot of those mutts to be the best dogs out there. |

Sorry but I beg to differ. I was texting on my phone, off the path, on a bench minding my own business, with my baby sitting by my side. She should have asked me first. Not let that dog walk up to me knowing I hadn't looked up at all to know he was right there. I didn't LET Cerise attack him. She did it automatically. Common sense would have told her not to let her flexi leash extend off the path onto a park bench where another woman and her puppy are minding their own business and not paying attention to her. But obviously she didn't have any! And her dog was ugly, big and scary looking. Loved or not, every animal is not attractive. |
