Forgot everything I thought I knew - please help! I've been reading and reading on what to do, it is going right out of my head now that I am in the middle. I just brought a new puppy home and Maxwell is NOT impressed. I don't want to cause problems and would like to stop any issues before they escalate. The puppy is a Newfie, "Bosch" is 8 weeks old and totally blissed out about whatever Maxwell does. Maxwell, (3 years old) has been showing his teeth, running between his toys guarding his "stuff" -- and looking pretty miserable. Maxwell will bark at him and has taken to going into both of the crates and staying back in the back like he's "on a sit-down strike". I know they have to communicate, but I am forgetting everything I'm supposed to do to help this be a house of harmony :dogwalk: and not getting shot the evil eye  for bringing a new member home. We did introduce them off-site and made sure that we went into the house before they did, but I seem to be at a loss of how to proceed. Any help you all may have or even links to other threads where you've heard of this before would be appreciated. I didn't even know what words to "search" -- I think I'm also a bit sleep deprived.:teethysmi |
Someone on yorkie suggested taking them on a walks together. This helped Missy and my foster Rosie. |
