Do you do long long walks? 1 Attachment(s) we have just got back from a 4 hour walk (with a pub lunch stop in between)and Tia walked almost the whole journey! She is 18mths old and only 5lb in weight but she loved it. I always take her carry holdal just in case she asks to go in it. Does your baby like long walks?Attachment 310528 |
Yup! Jackson could go forever. We've gone on 5 mile treks before. But there's also been days where he's out and about for sometimes 6 hours with me (once we went to dog park for 2 hours, walked around Petsmart for 30 minutes, went and visited family that also have dogs, etc) He can pretty much go all day and then night time comes and he CRASHES :) |
We go for longer walks and enjoy them. Lola and Geneva love to go on long walks and play fetch at the park. Zach wants to be held sometimes if it is cold. I think once the weather warms up he will enjoy the outdoors more.' Tia looks like a little diva in her bag. Pretty in pink! She has the same color nose as my Zach. |

I take Piper for a 3 mile walk every day at the beach, weather permitting. She is 5.75lbs and she enjoys walking on the beach, paths and boardwalk. She is a fast little walker and people who see her say that her little legs are a blur and it looks like she's floating along. At the end of our walk I know that Piper could easily walk another 3 miles. But I always worry that too much walking will hurt her feet. |
Armani enjoys long walks as well and I find that walking with her (especially when the sun is shining) really is a stress reducer. |
Lucy loves to run around the neighborhood unless it's cold. If it's cold she walks like 10 feet and then jumps up on my legs and whines to be carried. It's so cute! |
We do 30-35 minute walks, at a pretty good clip...Buzz and I are about through, after 30 minutes, but the little Diva, Apple could go another round lol...I just love that you stopped for a pub lunch (I've been to England)...Did you hide the baby in a carrier, eat outside, or what? |
Molly could have walked all day before she tore her cruciate ligament. For 6 months she's had restricted exercise, but we are now up to an hours walking a day, and that will hopefully be doubled by the summer. |

Our girl is now 12 1/2 and she walks a few blocks, then we carry her a few blocks, then she walks....when she was younger (under 10) she used to walk 3 miles and she stepped out smartly. Now, we just do not want to push her, but she does let us know when she wants out of the carry bag or stroller. She also lets us know when she is done walking by putting on the breaks. We have to take her or she gets jealous when she sees the big dog getting ready for his walk. SOmetimes, we just walk her down to the street corner and she is happy. |

I have a brand new baby yorkie. She's only 11 weeks old and 2 pounds if that. She'll be about 3.5/4 pounds fully grown. I've take her out almost every 3 hours or every 4 hours in my yard (plus when I think she needs to go potty)(which is huge) and walked her around for about 10 to 15 minutes. Today I took her for a walk down the street and down a bike path/park for about 25 minutes. She seems like she really loves walking and playing outside and she seems like she didn't mind the longer walk today at all, but I notice every time I go to pick her up to bring her in the house she is shaking like she's freezing. It's not too cold here in Boston about in the 50's, at least this weekend and sunny, (probably cold for her little self), but just wondering if long walks should be restricted until it gets warmer? I did order her a nice warm coat. Not sure if she really is cold and that's why she's shaking or she doesn't want to come in or for some other reason. Any thoughts/advice would be great. I'm sooo obsessing over everything with her! :) |
Last summer Ella and i would take 2 mile walks down my road and then she had her first bit on LP and the vet said to not take such long walks anymore. Since her LP has only been a problem once we went back to these long walks despite what the vet said. She loves it. Ella is deff. the outdoor type. |
If they don't let me take my little girl, I don't give them my business :) :heart toKandi |
