Wow!!! WOW! thats really a terrible thing what that lady did, and the conditions in which those poor doggies have to endure. The best thing probably would be to report to animal cruelty and neglect, so that she can't continue beating people out of a large sum of money. Its no telling how many people she has already conned. Please take action! To hear such a story, makes my heart ache.:( The puppies depend on us! |
Yes, the only thing that brings me joy out of all this is that I feel like I rescued the puppy and placed it in a home that it deserves with lots of love and care. If it was truly bought to live it's days in that kennel and be bred to death to make money I feel like I saved her. |
I'm sorry that you had to go through this. thank you for standing out sharing your experience with us. It just breaks my heart to hear her yorkies stay in outside kennel and not raised inside as family memebers.:( |
IF the dogs are all running together, how does the breeder know who sired a litter? that may be the thing to contact the AKC about. |
I am so sorry your family had to learn this lesson the hard way. :( I just linked this thread to several of the email addresses that were listed in her guestbook. For some, they have already bought dogs and even found a YT member on there! |
I should also add this member bought a dog from her to breed. Please take the OP's advice and be careful when buying a Yorkie! |
please dont be so hardon yourself. its obvious you have "learned" but also remember you have given that dog a chance at a better life. sadly it had to be at your pocket books expense. You are a good person. I think deep down you knew what was wrong here, but your heart choose to ignore it so that that pup could get out. I have done it tons of times more because I had to get the dog out of there. Luckily for me the only expenses i have had were on care. My heart is way too big and I have had a bad habit of "craigslist shopping" and going and getting a dog that I felt needed to get the hell outa that place! so one person out of how many have been to this kennel and purchased a dog from them and reported a good review? hmm ONE person.. yea... I'm going with the majority on this one... and the op. bless your heart hun.. so much emtional stress on you lately. oh and i have asked several "breeders" what their "return policy" is.. and i have heard many of them say that they can not risk exposing their kennel to things like parvo so they do not take them back. has anyone else heard this before? |
so sad I have read this and it has been brought to my attention by past by some of my past happy yorkie owners and all I have to say is what a shame, first and far most many of you do not even know me or ever gotton a yorkie from me. I refuse to come on here and get into a dipute with people posting on what some one else has said and go back and forth with aruguments. I am not a puppy mill and My dogs are not outside!! It is very obvious you can not always please everyone in life, but try to defend and justify my self by untrue accursation made by some one else when there are always 2 sides and people choose to believe a one sided story. I have had many many very happy new yorkie owners which any of you are more than welcome to conatct. I am not perfect and you can never please everyone no matter hard you try. Its very sad that people jump on negitive and not talk with the happy people that have bought yorkies from me before passing judment and posting or seeing for your self how my yorkies are raised and cared for. And maddie why you are on such a mission when you have never bought a yorkie from me or seen how my dogs are made is really sad. I do not what you are attempting to accomplish by this, but i think before you past judment against me maybe you should come see for yourself before judging then you can state truth instead of hear say. And as far as me posting anything on here and saying I was the one who posted it far from the truth. I do not come on here much and when I do i idinifey myself and take responsibiltiy for my post. Thank you for taking the time to read this and any one is more than welcome to contact me or visit my yorkies. TJS yorkies Toni ledbetter |

unfortunatly - there's a ton of 'breeders' out there that use puppies as income and provide minimal care - they just want that sale. |
do not use for income!! She did call and say" female had slight yeast in her ears but also stated the female was healthy beside this and her vet said this us not uncommon in yorkies". She checked out fine at my vet 3 days prior. I DO NOTuse my dogs as a income by no means, I am a hobby breeder, I sold this female for far less than what was given for her. I could not even break even for what I have into my dogs. With this said I actually took a huge loss but thought she would have a good home with this family not replaced 2 weeks later. I did offer to help find a good home for her AND SHE WAS POSTED ON PUPPY FIND by the buyer. Also she states she recued this baby, she was being sold for a pet only and was not going to breed because of size, so to stay here and just be bred is far from the truth this is why she was going into a pet home to begin with, Once again no one is perfect and next time i will be more cautious before letting one of my yorkies leave with a family. U have made many of families happy and it is infortunate but no one can always make everyone happy. |
She says that she offered to help us find her a home, but after we told her we wanted to bring the puppy back she quit answering our phone calls on her home line, her cell phone and would not respond to our emails. She is not being truthful here. I tried for days to get in touch with her with no response. She no more wanted to help the puppy find a home than she wanted to give our money back. She didn't care at all what happened to that puppy once it left her home and she had the money. SAD!!:( |
It is hard to find someone credible when they only have 3 posts on YT, and 2 of them where from defending themselves. Kind of makes you go "hmmmm..." |

As far as the 'living conditions' posted about ....I would think anyone with multiple dogs for sale would be fastidious about their envoirnment. It's such a dis-service to any dog to be living in unclean conditions ...not to mention - detrirmental to their health. I say this because about 20 years ago we 'bought-rescued' my cocker spaniel Tessa from what I later realized was a small scale mill. The smell was one reason I ran out of there holding her while my husband paid. I know better now but back then, I didn't and will never forget it. |

My first Yorkie, Mr Callan, came from a pet shop in the most exclusive part of London, Kensington. So 'exclusive' was this shop that we learned the lean way. Callan came from Kensington via Wales ... via a lengthy train journey aged under 8 weeks! The pet shop had been overcrowded and all the pups stuck together in one pen! Little did we know all those years ago. Callan went through a lifetime of bowel problems, kidney problems, slipped knee cap, overshot jaw ... You name it, he had it. He lived to 13yrs and that was a minor miracle. My next 2 'boys' came from Wormwood Scrubs Prison :eek: one of the UK's most famous 'house of corrections'. :D This time we saw mum and dad, visited the fantastic home the dogs lived in - all spotlessly clean and tranquil for the best start in a Yorkie's life. Pikey and Ricky Richard lived to over 16yrs. Teddy and Lenny, my present 2, again came from dubious beginnings. They came to me via a young man I met through a selling newspaper called Loot. Of course I shouldn't have taken on either of them but, with over 30yrs experience behind me, I did. Teddy came via a pet shop in South London and Lenny via a 'dirty old woman in Kent' ... so I was told. :( Yes, you could say that again. The pup was just 8 wks when he was dumped into my mum's arms and he was so ill, he spent the next 24hrs on a drip over at the vet's. He was filthy dirty and half dead. Go to my page and see him now! ;) I feel so strongly for people who are taken in by bogus breeders and puppy farms. We had a campaign over here in the UK a few years ago to ban these places from the face of the earth ... but still they get through! My heart goes out to you. You meant well and you really cared. That's what these criminals play upon. |
I think anyone who is looking to buy a Yorkshire Terrier needs to invest in a little book called Yorkhire Terrier For Dummies. You need to make sure that the breeder is just as concerned about who you are as you are about him/her. Don't ignore the red flags. When you do..you end up in a situation like this. And I believe every breeder needs to be skilled and knowledgable. A reputable breeder will make deliberate choices, based on dispositon, health and genetic history of the dogs they intend to mate...back yard breeders don't give this much thought. A reputable breeder should never produce more puppies than they can sell..they should have a waiting list of approved homes. Take your time and be smart and there is always rescue..Peace~ |

I almost had that happen to me once when I went to see a Chihuahua puppy a few years ago. We arrived at dusk and as we drove up I realized that what looked like cattle pens were outside runs with bigger dogs of SEVERAL breeds. The woman met me on the porch with 2 little puppies that felt damp, like they had been laying in urine or something. She did not invite me in the house but pushed the pups in my hand for me to look at. When I said I couldn't tell much about them because the light was bad she pulled me over to a porchlight so I could see better!!!!! I told her I couldn't buy a dog if I couldn't see the parents and she excused herself, went into the house and came back with a pitiful Chihuahua mom that made me want to cry. I even suggested we go into the house so I could see everything better and she refused because "the place was a mess" I felt so sorry for the animals and asked my husband what to do and he said I could buy the pup if I wanted but it would only be encouraging that abusive lady to keep breeding. He was right, I told her NO thanks and left. On the drive home we decided to turn her in and we did report it but I don't know if anything came out of it. People like that make me sick making a living off the backs of God's animals. Like your lady she was very deceptive on the telephone. I was convinced she was a sweet granny type lady that just bred one litter for the experience, then the dog accidentally got pregnant a second time! ...follow your gut....and trust very few. |
Honest Caring Breeder I have known Toni for a year. I have purchased from her (perfectly healthy, socialized, gorgeous and loving). Toni could not be more doting over her babies. They live in a beautiful addition in her beautiful home and she always has extra help to assist her with the upkeep. This was built for the yorkies comfort and needs along with washable pee pads. They are in full coat and come from the best heavy champion lines producing amazing pups. She is extremely honest and is above and beyond a wonderful concerned breeder. I am new and joined after reading these comments. These vicious remarks are ridiculous and I cannot be silent. |
It seems to me that the fact that even one member described the conditons she encountered is enough to cast doubt on this breeder. Shame on anyone that supports this woman. Breeding for money is sickening! I will not be taken in by professional looking websites that hide abuse. Shame on you, shame on you to anyone that defends someone that allows breeding dogs to be anything but truly loved and cared for. |

 Here we go with another new member joining just to claim a bad breeder is great. What champion blood lines? What are you... the bad breeders friend, relative, puppy broker, or are you actually a customer of hers who is so clueless that you don't know what a good breeder or healthy breeding environment is? Do you actually know what a healthy Yorkie puppy is like? Healthy puppies don't have yeast infections in their ears and live in feces and urine in kennels. |

posting what do you have to be a memeber and have tons of post on here to be a reputable person and no this peerson is not a friend or realitive, just a happy yorkie owner, it amazes me that even when some one post somthing good it still comes to nothing but negetive. Most of the posting from people on here that states negative things do not even know me or ever spoke to me but yet give there opinion and judge mem this is really a sad world. Any of you are more than welcome to come visit me and see my babies and then you can post truth not judgement. |

And the 14 post from you have been recently to defend yourself SHASTA. You don't have a good breeding reputation and the only good things said about you are from people that apparently you have asked to join YT to help you to keep fooling potential buyers. I wonder why this keeps happening? |
"Cerise" you do not know me at all and for you to keep posting about me and your comments is just horrible that you can pass judgment. And if someone wants to come on here and post somthing this is there right just as it is for anyone to post somthing weather they are newbie as there called or someone who post all the time. it is open to any member. |

What is so horrible about what I said? 1. You have joined recently to defend yourself...under a new name. 2. You don't have a good breeding reputation. I Googled and researched you months ago when I was looking for a Yorkie. 3. Both times you joined YT new members came on to defend you and that is something that is not looked at as positive. So what is so horrible about that? |
