i have a friend who's ready to buy a yorkie pup yesterday! :rolleyes: she's seriously considering buying from on-line breeders

www.puppyfind.com and www.yorkiepup.com

has anyone dealt w/these people before? and how was your experience?

Can she find a Breeder near her home?
I would want to go see the pup first.
If she wants a on-line pup,
I would check this site, we have lots
of really good Breeders, who care about
their babies. Some of the on-line places,
are just breeding to breed. At least that's
what I have heard. I would look in to it first.

Okay now I wouldn't consider this to be a good breeder. There is only one yorkie standard and she tries to push that teacups are their own breed or accepted as such. Obviously she's trying to push tinies for profit.

I agree. I would want to go see the puppy first and Meet the breeder in person. See the parents and take time to ask all the quetions before I would buy.Tell her good luck in finding a baby.

tell your friend that she should make an informed decision on getting a yorkie. It takes time to find the perfect one, but when she does it is worth it. If she goes to the wrong breeder she can get a sick puppy with hundreds of dollars in bills.

This is Jeff Danes website. He has had may complaints of sick puppies online. I wish I could remeber the site where I read about them. Anyway I would pass on this breeder.

I happened on a site about Jeff Dane when I was researching for my first yorkie. It was ugly and since I was so new at it and not great on the internet I did not try to keep the site as a favorite. Later, I tried to find it again, since I could not remember the breeder and was getting ready to buy Chloe from Atlanta. I wanted to make sure the breeder I picked was not the breeder people were complaining about. I suggest going to YTCA website and look at their breeder recommendations. Also, try to go to shows near you, where you can meet people and educate yourself. This site has some breeders also and a lot of info. Definitely, I'd go to the home and visit the breeder and the pet beforehand. JMO

Have a friend who bought a male Yorkie from a breeder in Nebraska...health cert----NOT; AKC reg-----NOT! She will keep the little guy but she is out $1200.00 plus$200.00 shipping...BTW, that was found on puppyfind..

I have sold my Great Dane pups on puupyfind and had no problems from anyone I have dealt with from that site and when I have another litter I will post on there again.

excellent suggestion. :D unfortunately, she's beyond reason. i just hope her new pup is an exception to the rule.

i agree completely. i tried to get her to slow down but understand her excitement as well. i guess we just have to let people fall down and get up on their own. :(

I live about two hours from Jeff Dane. We purchased two puppies from him. They are beautiful, healthy, happy, and were reasonably priced. Full grown weight almost as guessed at 6 (Bronx) and 8 (Zowie) pounds. I found his home to be lovely as were his wife and children, all of whom help with the pups. His daughter, about 16, raises the maltese. He owns two other breeding facilities as well as his own. He has lovely kennels with indoor and outdoor areas. My pups (not brother and sister) had a litter in May, also healthy beautiful babies. I was told Bronx father was 2.5 pounds, the mothers are generally around 7. One of my pups is 3# at almost 5 months. The others are 4, 6 and 7. I don't believe them to be full grown, but they are great puppies, they are not nervous, sickly, scrawny. I don't want to upset everyone, but I do tire of the Jeff-bashing.

i'll certainly keep you posted on my friend's new puppy. i have to say i'm REALLY glad i asked. honestly, i'd like to hear more positive than negative about a breeder but i just can't balk at so many past experiences that were not good. as an owner i'd rather be safe than sorry.

you're very fortunate to have seen your pups before buying. i think every owner should do so. again, i hope my friend's purchase will prove successful.

I wish her good luck with her new puppy, too. They are so very fragile when they are small - wherever you get them, just the move is a shock. I think people talk a lot more about bad than good experiences as a rule. I have personally seen very little first hand bad experiences with Jeff, and he has been breeding for a very long time. He does it full time for the past 10 years and stays up with each mother as they whelp.

well, if my friend has a good experience i'll be the 1st one to give kootos to The Great Dane. ;) i'll keep you posted. ...promise.

LIke I said I had no Problems with Puppyfind, BUT then again my pups are REG so on and I still keep in contact with EVERYONE I have sold a pup to and they can contact me day or night I dont care if they have any questions about any of my pups. I also ask for updates to see how they are doing so on. I am probably one of those noisy pesty breeders lol. I am even goign to go to one of their houses when there Dane is going to have pups to help them out.

Just make sure you have lots of phone calls, emails, visits so on whatever comunication you can have before and after you buy your baby.

My Dad got a Yorkie off puppyfind and he was great I think they paid a little to much though (2k) but he is cute and doing great so far. What pisses me off about them getting Charlie is they have the AKC papers and they arent going to paper him. :mad: He has ch in his lines so on, who knows maybe it was one of you who sold him to them lol. I know he came from mid west.

Guess I cant really say to much due to the fact alot of my pups can go for 1k-3k.

I got Bijou from Jeff about a little over a month ago. I was freaked out buying one over the internet, but I couldnt find one here or even one to adopt/rescue. She is so cute and healthy. I took her to the vet right away and they said she was very healthy. Then I took her to a friend who shows yorkies for 30 years. She was impressed. So im very happy. But it was really hard buying a dog I'd never met. Im glad she turned out with a great personality. So far so good.. :) :)

you sound liuke an extremely good breeder. But to be honest breeders like you can be rare on puppyfind.com . I got my tucker from there and was very fortunate!!! but before him, i got a pomeranian puppy from there from a breeder named cheryl boettger and it was a mess! I payed for a puppy and waited 6 months and she kept making exscuses as to why she wouldn't send him to me. Finally after threatning to sue she sent me a whole other puppy who was much larger then what i payed for,not the dog in the pictures from her and he died 4 days after I got him form parvo virus(the baby suffered so badly :( ). Throughout my contact with her she lied several times, now she refuses to refund me and most importantly does not care about the puppies she sells. Also I came in contact with several other ppl who have had issues with her and i found out that she is a puppy broker and her supplier is a puppy mill. But she's on puppyfind with good ratings(which are probally fake) And lots of people adopt/buy from her.A woman i am in contact now has lost several 1000's of dollars in vet bills,and her two puppies from Cheryl are still on deaths door as we speak. And when she tried to post a bad review about her to warn others,puppyfind actually REMOVED them !!!! Her name is Cheryl Boettger and she sells "teacup" pomeranian puppies, tell your friend to be careful please. My new pup yorkie tucker has mended my heart over that experience, but i'm still going after her juggler!

this really is good news. i hope my friend will have the same positive results. i'll keep you posted.

check this out. now she's looking at a couple puppies on puppyfind.com. i probably need to forward your story to her but...good NIGHT! she doesn't learn! i know it doesn't have to be all bad but the odds are NOT in her favor. :rolleyes:

I'm so glad to hear good stories about Jeff Dane because, like I said, the post I accidentally happened on were not good. I am sure even the best breeders can sometimes have misunderstandings. I'd just recommend a visit to the whatever place you are interested in and I prefer breeders who home breed for one breed only. But, as long as the results are good, That's what matters.

the puppy got a clean bill of health so far. :) the bump could be a hernia but it looks more like a sliver. if it is a sliver the vet will remove it when she's older. (i don't understand that part. why not remove it now? :confused: ) there's still a possibility it could be hernia.

the new owner plans to have blood work done in the next few days as well.

she's 2.3 pounds but the doctor expects her to gain at least another pound.

What is the DOB for the pup your friend got? I think 2.3 lbs is small and a wonderful size.
