Warning on that CHEAP PUPPY! Last night on the news in Austin (Fox) a story was reported about internet puppy buying. A couple was looking for a purebred English Bulldog and didn't want to pay the breeders prices  So they searched for months on the net for a cheaper puppy and eventually came across one for "FREE" in many states far away from Texas. Supposedly the owner was trying to rehome the puppy and all they wanted was a payment for the flight shipping. So this overly excited couple :thumbdown sent emails to the supposedly man and after a few days of nice pictures and emails back and forth they sent him 480 dollars. Then they got another email for more money claiming it was for the insurance, about 900 something more  So they then (admitted feeling it was wrong ) sent that money too and then all emails and calls stopped. Of course they where scammed. But I am beginning to wonder about how in the world people like them allow this to happen to them. If you have a computer and you are taking the time to search for that CHEAP PUPPY then you have the time to search for WHAT PUPPY NOT TO BUY! Goodness!!! People being so cheap and wanting a great deal, rather than a healthy well bred puppy, then crying wolf and victim afterwards, is getting old IMO. And now they put it on the news to warn folks, and complain about how they are so broke and what they can't afford. Funny, they coughed up that 1400 plus dollars in an instant when they thought they were getting a FREE English Bulldog puppy  But do folks pay ATTENTION! NO! They just think it's not going to happen to them because they want to have bragging rights on what a great deal they got on their puppy, by being so CHEAP HEARTED!!! |
We also here in england have plenty of scammer's,They say they are in certain part's of the country and they are from cameroon,People have thought they are getting a cheap puppy only to send money and never see the puppy,This has been going on along time over here and we have put warning's out all over our puppy selling site's and yet people still fall for this scam,It is an awful thing for these people to do i just wish the law could clamp down on them. |
I would say it's ingorance. I don't mean they are actually ignorant but ignorant to the fact of what can happen on the internet. It's all about educating yourself and who would think of being scammed unless your actually were. We know about it on YT because it's been brought to our attention. Heck, I was ignorant when I bought Buddy. I paid $1.400.00 for him in a pet store. I am blessed because he's healthy but after finding YT I could have bought one less that that, within standard and from a dedicated breeder. Who knew? I know now:p I guess you have to be burnt to not allow it to happen again. I feel bad for them really. However, even I knew not to buy online.:aimeeyork |

What's even worse is they researched good breeders for months and admitted that they wanted to go this cheap route, because they just couldn't stand the pricing. The news media even played into that saying breeders go to war bidding against each other and charging high prices for healthy well bred puppies  DUH!! Then afterwards the two reporters sitting there suggested for everyone to just get a mutt at the pound! I'm all for rescuing if that is your choice, but that comment was stupid because everyone doesn't want a mutt. |
