The first time that I ever saw Livi and Huck, it was in pictures and I knew from their eyes. Harley was face-to-face and he looked just like a little Boyd's Bear and with Izzy....I don't know, I just loved her expression. :) But definitely with Huck and Livi, their big round eyes!! |

I'm convinced that they actually pick us; not the other way around. When I went to get Max from a rescue, I went with the intention of getting another dog. I was already approved for the other dog but when we got there, he nipped at me so obviously he wasn't ready for adoption. My daughter was sitting in a chair while all the dogs were around her feet. Max kept circling around the back of the other dogs like he was trying to work his way up to the front. Man, when he had a chance he jumped in my daughter's lap and gave her the biggest kiss. So guess who we took home instead. He was so happy from the moment he got in the car. He didn't mope around or lose his appetite when he came home. It was like he fit right in. It was luck that we got him. He had only been at the rescue for a few days. He wasn't even put up on their website yet. He has been my life since he's been in it. I just love my boy! :hearts6: |
Hey everyone I'm loving your stories!!! I can't tell you how many times I've teared up...Beautiful stories..Just what I was looking for...Keep them coming I think they are being enjoyed by everyone......Thank you YT gang!!....Lisa |
I sorta just felt a connection with them, as stupid as that probably sounds. When we got Joey, he was the only yorkie at the pet store (we didn't know any better - we were VERY naiive), but we had discussed that we wanted a boy yorkie, and he was there. As soon as I walked into the store, I saw him, and I knew he was mine. For Tank, it was only him and his brother left, and we originally considered his brother. I'm not even sure why we decided on him, but we just felt like we wanted him. When we went to pick him up, we found out that his brother had tried jumping off of something and had broken his shoulder...it just worked perfectly for us each time, confirming our gut feelings that these were the dogs that were meant for us. |
My boyfriend and I drove two hours to look at the puppies when they were just five weeks old. There was three girls and a boy, and the boy was already reserved. I had wanted a girl anyway. Well we played with the three girls on the floor for a while and my bf got attached to the bigger one because it was the most outgoing, and even though I liked the smallest one's face and how she was a little more calm and how she didnt struggle to escape my arms, my bf talked me into the wild one. So we put down a deposit and left, and had the pictures developed (the one with me and all three pups, its on my profile). And right when I saw the picture I knew I had made the wrong decision. I wanted the little girl so I called the lady and she let me switch, and she said she knew I would be calling. So that is how I ended up with Ella! She is a great little puppy... she will be one year old this month:eek::eek: |
My Little guys had two very distinct characteristics My Mike at just 10 wks old ran over to me and started barking for me to play with him And my Zack had the cutest little stand up ears :p Whatever it is You will love the one you choose |

When I went to pick out Maddie it was between her and her sister. They were pretty much identical from their coloring to their weight, everything about their appearance was the same. I was holding the two girls in my lap and looking them over. One of the puppies was sitting in my lap shaking and the other sat there with her tail wagging and then climbed right up to my face and attacked it with puppy kisses, she definitely chose me, I didn't have any say in it;) |
When I went to get Apple, I bought from a "broker", but didn't know it, until I got there ...Fortunately, it worked out o.k., but I'm sure I paid waaaaay to much for her...Anyway, I digress...There were about 8-12 pups there, and Apple was the smallest, but she always got the toy, and kept bringing it back to me (and there were other adults there)...I went to get a boy, that day, but she sold herself to me...W/my buzzy boy, I heartached, for a couple of hrs., between him and his smaller brother, although, when I arrived at the breeders home, I had to make a quick potty call, as it was a long drive...Buzz quickly followed me into the bathroom (the other three didn't) and I fell in love w/his little face...I'm so glad I finally chose him, instead of his brother, because I'm still in love w/that adorable little face...I've been blessed twice!!! |

Awww .......I had a good laugh at the floozie comment....tooo cute!!!! Shay was only one left that the breeder had, and he had athis lil shaking thing going when he would get excited, so NO one wanted him...I found it simply endearing...LOVE at first site...he is the calmest, sweetest boy EVER. We adopted Bella a few weeks ago, the breeder had a few to choose from...I wanted, number one, a female ( I love Pink..lol)..so there were 2 girls to choose from...Bella was just soo adorable and sweet, she gave kisses and more kisses, but was more calm then her sister, so I thought GREAT! since Shay is so calm.....LOL, boy was I wrong..she is a spitfire..lol..she has really been a breath of fresh air....Keeps me and Shay on our toes...... |
Unfortunately I got my girl from Texas and I live in Las Vegas, so I wasn't able to go see her in person (don't worry, I made sure that the breeder had lots or positive feedback from other buyers to make sure she was legit, and she's a member on here, too!). The breeder sent me a pic of the four pups from her new litter. It was so hard because they were all so cute, but I chose "Lilly" out of the pack, and she is just wonderful! She plays with my kids so well, and is the epitome of a lapdog, which I love! Now, she is my Sasha, and always brings a smile to my face! |
Love at first sight... 1 Attachment(s) Honestly, I saw this picture of Saphira and right away I said I have to have her! By the next day she was mine. |
well i have always wanted a yorkie since i was a very little girl...I wanted one so bad that at my job i had a picture off the internet of a yorkie on the computer...well my wonderful boss was picking up her big dog from the groomers and the groomer had a litter of yorkies....So nexxt thing you know she is sending me pictures of 1 little boy and 2 little girls...she came back to the office and we were talking about them and she said "i know you cant afford to pay $750 up front so how about i pay it for you and we just take $75 a week from your check?".....well you can imagine how exciting this was to me since i have always wanted one of these precious babies!!!!! So next thing you know we are on the way back to the groomers to take a peek at all 3 of them.....well when i got there the 2 girls were in a playpen right by the front door for all the visitors to see....THEY WERE CRAZY silly little girls jumping and playing and fighting for the attention...So i asked "where is the little boy?" and he went to the back of the shop and brought him up... HE WAS THE SWEESTEST LITTLEST, GENTLEST BABY BOY I HAD EVER SEEN...Immediately he looked at me and licked me I knew he was the one...he was so mellow and loving i felt his love just coming off his little furry body...Now, i have my gift from god....and thats what Jukka means......I'm so thankful that this little guy is in my life and that i have such an awesome boss!!!! |

Lucy was meant for me! I have looked at a LOT of local yorkies in my adventures for the perfect pup. Not only yorkies but, of course, pet shops (don't worry, I had no intentions of buying from there) tried to show me other breeds as well. Lucy was the only female in her littler along with two little boys and was about two hours away from me. The boys were both smaller than Lucy but her face was SO cute and her personality jumped out at me. Before meeting Lucy the lady I bought her from explained that the little girl was very independent and wasn't much of a cuddler. As soon as Lucy saw me, she wouldn't leave my side. When I picked her up, she started kissing my cheeks ... she looked at me with that cute face and I just had some sort of instant bond with her. Even my boyfriend said he saw it in my eyes when I saw her. For such an independent girl she follows me everywhere and whines if I'm out of her sight. Hehe. And she loves snuggling/cuddling with her daddy and me. I waited a long time, and looked for what it seems like forever. It was worth it ... even when she wakes me up kissing my face to go out potty at 6am! Hahahahaha! :heart to |
Ok, all the stories I read on here talk about looking, seeing and falling in love. Mines different. The ad in the paper said 1 1/2 yr old male & female, must be sold together, breeders do not call. We had lost our first yorkie a month or sor earlier. I called because I wanted 2 and $600 was a good price. I went over to the lady's house, in a nice neighborhood. She said they had bought them for their children and now a big dog had moved in next door that the neighbor was not containing and she was worried they would get hurt. Now I know she was tired of dealing with puppes. In her kitchen, in a play pen were 2 puppies. We think they got them to breed, had 2 litters and decided it was too much trouble. When I got them home, OMG. Harley had such big knots, I had to take scissors to him and poor Isabel. You knew she had been to the groomer around Halloween because she had a halloween bow in her topknot. I got her at the end of February! It was so matted, I had to cut it off and she was pretty bald for a while. They were just 1 1/2 and Izzy had already had 2 litters. No vet papers, no shot records. So we feel we rescued them. I had her spayed and Harley neutered and it has been the best $600 I ever spent. I can't imagine them not being around. Harely got killed, so I startd looking for a companion for Isabel - she had never been alone - and, again, an ad in the paper - 6 mo old male, neutered all shots AKC $500. I will be honest and tell you, the price was the factor, although I was looking for a male puppy and 6 months was a good age. We got Moses - what a deal, only $500!! Well a broken leg, amputation and $1500 later, he's our sweet baby and we wouldn't trade him. But I never knew to check breeders or anything. I know where Harley and Isabel both came from, and both of them should never have been allowed to breed, Izzy has a humpback and Harley had bad knees, but still, they were so sweet I just had to have them. So now Isabel and Moses rule the house and everyone in it! |

honestly my boss is the best person i know...Im closer to her then my own family and I feel forever indebted to her for something so wonderful....If it wasnt for her i wouldnt have him and if i didnt have him who's to say the right person would have gotten him..It definately shows that what is meant to be will be and he was meant for me!!!!! :animal-pa |
When I went to look at the puppies over 7 years ago, chester came running out to meet me and that was it he was the one, a very social mammas boy |
Arabella the great My boyfriend was with me kept asking me if I was sure and it was a lot of money to pay for a dog. His stance was if you want one get one but I'm not the daddy. After the 200th time of hearing this while I was playing with Arabella in the grass I really wanted to hit him up side the head. It was at this moment that Arabella decided to introduce herself to him. She stood up to give him the cute puppy kiss, he put his hand down to pick her up and bam she pee'd on his hand. That sealed the deal for me. A girl after my own heart. Seven months later she is the love of my life and the boyfriend is wrapped around her little paw. |
I knew I wanted a Yorkie, but it didn't matter whether a boy or a girl. My husband grew up with a girl...she was his pet for 17 wonderful years, so he had no experience with boys. Rucker, a little boy, was the last one left, so I didn't get to "pick" him, but that was ok because I think I would have ended up with him anyway! It was so meant to be. I picked him up and he snuggled in my arms as if he belonged there. I have never wished for a different dog. He has fit right into our family and into our hearts. :) |
After I lost my Chloe it took a long time for me to get over it. I decided after years of girls I wanted a boy and 10 months later I called the breeder I got Chloe's dam off. He had a new litter- 4 boys one girl, already sold,- after saying hi he said I could go up when they were 4 weeks and have the pick of the boys. Now my mom being my mom said get the smallest. So I went up and was introduced to a basketfull of squirmy babies. To satisfy mom I picked up the smallest first, a boy, looked at the others with him in one hand. The breeder was saying how nice the second smallest boy was headwise, but I put them side by side and prefered the body length of the little one so I did pick him. When I put him back with his siblings he immidiatly started beating up on his biggest brother. Went to pick him up weeks later and placed him into my arm while talking to his breeder, after about 60 seconds of shaking he decided I wasn't so bad and started killing my sleeve. Incidently he was born exactly a year to the day my Chloe passed, fate. With Rosie I had been browsing sites with the I want another baby feeling. Looked at many but nothing seamed to click. Then I saw a picture of h Rosie and her brother and I just knew. My brother-in-law and sister took us up and it was love at first sight. It took her one night to get over her fear, the rest is history. She was born on the birthday of another of my previous girls. |
