Everyone should save this thread and remind people of it the next time someone says, "I hope someone from YT gets it" in reference to a yorkie for sale or a rehome.
I have harped about it a few times, but it does not get enough attention imo.

There are some wonderful people on YT ... we just need to remind ourselves that bad news people lurk everywhere! Just because someone posts all sweet things does NOT make them a responsible and caring yorkie owner.

Maybe Admin should make a sticky of all the banned or suspended YT members that way a breeder cold go there to double check them.

If only it were that easy. Just because a person has been suspended, does not make them bad pet owners.

Breeders and rescuers ..and any person trying to rehome their pet need to do thorough reference checks on people.

Amanda's pup was saved because she was thorough and cared about where he was going!

Or maybe we need a "Buyers Review" section for the breeders or something to that sort, or a thread/sticky where us breeders can post if we have any issues???
Since there is a "Breeder" review section? Just a thought?

I agree, I tell people on here and on CL all the time, that there are some real wackos out there and you really, really need to check people out, especially to the ppl giving dogs for free....

Oh, I know...I see that word and it scares me. People think they are doing the right thing .. some don't want to make money and honestly want a good home. So many just don't get what goes on in the world to these poor little defenseless babies.

I'm not a breeder, but I think that would be a good idea!
Just like buyers get scammed, I'm sure breeders do as well!
I think you should have access to similar info before turning over precious puppies!

I agree, and I am guilty of saying that a time or 2 also:rolleyes: Things like this happen every day, thank you Amanda for bringing it to light so more people are made aware of what can happen.

I hope you find a great home for your baby, I know you are on the right track.

What is sad about that is there really are nice people out there too. The gentleman from Arizona who was giving away his yorkie to a good home was a very sincere person who only wanted his baby to be safe and happy. Thank God I went with my heart and instincts, or I would not have my little Tyler.

Or...thank God you were ok. That is the point here. There are a lot of good people rehoming dogs....that is not the problem so much as the kooks that are out there looking for a free or cheap yorkie.

I don't know... I still think the Admin should keep a list of (at least) all the *banned YT members. The breeders could look at the list and if they see a potential buyer's name on the list they could investigate why that person was banned.

*I'm not sure I understand the dif between a banned and suspended member. I'm assuming that a banned member can not ever be a member again and a suspended member could be a member again after a period of time??
