We Have Our New Baby! We picked up our Yorkie baby a week ago and I have to tell you all that I am in love!! Our little 'Muffin' is the absolute sweetest thing in the entire world. She has the cutest personality and I never knew a puppy could give so many kisses. We were snuggle buddies from the moment I picked her up. Our 2 1/2 year old male Maltese is not a lover like this little girl is. The two 'kids' are getting along great except now, after a week, my Maltese 'Biscuit' is starting to mark. He did it 3 times yesterday and once today. Maybe he's figured out that his new baby sister isn't going to leave!! Has anyone else experienced problems with the first dog marking after the second one moves in? This forum is so wonderful and I have received a wealth of information and great tips for you all. Thanks for your input. Muffin and Biscuit's Mommy |

Congrats on the new baby! My male didnt start marking after i got my female. Maybe if you get him neutered that would help. MY male humped a teddybear untill I got him neutered then he stopped. Good luck |

Hello and welcome. I'm soooo jealous, I want a third so badly I can taste it. I have two female yorkies and there wasn't a problem because I was told by the breeder to be sure to give the first of everything to the oldest Chloe. So, she got the first kiss, first food, first treat, pet, snuggle, etc. You might try that. |

Awwwwwwe, isn't it nice to be in love?!?!?! I am experiencing the same thing with my little Cowboy I got 2.5 weeks ago. As far as your Maltese (and how cute are those names together......Muffin and Biscuit :p ) marking now, I'd suggest belly bands. Wouldn't you think all of those puppy kisses would exhaust the little buggers? But no, they have over 5 million to go!!!!! Have fun and enjoy that new baby!!!!! |

I think that it is great that you just got a new Yorkie. If he is getting along great with the other dog all that you really have to do is put scotch guard on the spots where he is marking and your problem should be solved. |
