My little Sugar...
 

I'm struggling if I should make a new thread here, since there are already 2 threads about shaved furbabies.
Anyway I decided just to post this up with some photos. (I'm sorry it's a weee bit long! I have to let this out)
Some of you may remember Sugar got spayed about 5 weeks ago, stitches removed 10 days later and her skin was terribly "ripped off", thus I have to wait another 2 weeks to bath her. And, the worst is, she has the E-collar on most of the time and she hated me touching her hair during that period of time, her hair was in terrible mess, and after 3 weeks of not bathing her, she smelt like poo... She's not fully potty-train, sometimes she steps on her own poo (accidentally).

After the 3 weeks, I bathed her and she still smelt so bad.. her hair (on her feet) still have the scent of poo, I bathed her a week later and the smell is still there. I then decided to bring her to groomer and have her all shaved. The groomer asked me a few times
"Are you sure?"
"Are you sure? She might not look like your furbaby after shaved"

Ended up hearing Sugar crying at the saloon. She was frightened by the sound of shaver, well in fact she doesn't like to go out after the painful experience at the vet office (removing stitches and the adhesive tape). I have to hold my breath, trying not to cry at the saloon.
Waited for about 45 minutes, Sugar came out and I nearly couldn't recognize her, I'm glad the groomer leave her face area.

I checked her hands, legs and skin, sad to see there a few tiny "scratches" (caused by the shaver), now I know why Sugar cried. I've been waiting at the saloon, just I'm sitting at the reception area because Sugar wouldn't want others to touch her if she saw me there. I wouldn't blame the groomer, because I know she tried her best not to hurt Sugar, it's tiny scratches I shouldn't make a big fuss about it... although my heart's really broken seeing it.

The hair of her body is silver/grey, Months ago I put Sugar on "Natural Pet" skin and fur conditioning tablets, she started to grow black color hair at the back of her body, but anyhow I think her color changed over the months, and now she's all silver and grey at the back.

My mum loves Sugar's new look but my dad thinks she looks like an...alien?! :confused:
Sigh anyway I still love her very much, hair will grow, I'm not too worry about this. I'm now worrying about her fear of people, Sugar really scared to go out these days, whenever other people try to hold her, she will have accident (pee). I should give her more time...

Aw, poor baby, she's been through so much!! Boy they shaved her really short. Regardless, she is adorable, what a sweet face!! Give her a big hug for me!!

She may need some reinforcement training after this so she doesn't have such a fear of people. Just lots of encouragement, love and praise.

I feel so bad for her, I can understand how heart breaking the whole thing is. Hopefully she will soon recover fully and be back to her normal self with all this behind her.

When my Brownie broke his leg, he had surgery to put a pin in and he wasn't allowed to be bathed for 3 months!! I ended up shaving him and he was in a full coat prior. It is just now growing back.
Luckily the vets were very gentle and kind with him. He actually came through this liking people even more than before.

Violet, I am so sorry that poor Sugar has gone thru so much in such a short time. :( She is adorable with or without her hair. :) I do not understand why you have not received that collar yet??? I don't have a way of tracing it.:mad: Hopefully you will get it in the next few days...it's been 2-3 weeks now? I am so sorry. Please give Sugar a big kiss and hug from me. Bo

I really hope I would get the collar from you anytime soon, that's very kind of you to make a softee collar for Sugar, Sugar is too waiting for the gift you made her, well in fact couldn't wait any longer :(

I am so very sorry. :( Let's keep our fingers crossed that it will come tomorrow. :)

I've already have my mum keep an eye of the postman, I hope there's a good news when I get back later... :)

Awwwww poor baby, and poor you...you two have been put through the ringer!

Oh, poor little Sugar, she has such soulful eyes. I hope and pray everythings goes well for the both of you now.

Oh my! That looks pitiful, but in a REALLY cute way! Good thing it is warm in M'sia, LOL.

The best days are ahead of you and Sugar! She looks so precious!

Hahaha, it's not only "warm", it's forever Summer here! :p
But I still need to give her an extra blanket at night :)
