Just a dog!?!?!? Well we had a vet appointment yesterday for Artemis and of course Pann came too:D, we go to my mom's afterwords so they can run in her double lot fenced in backyard and get rid of some energy!! So the 'evil' vet man comes in-I am not this guys biggest fan and Pann doesn't like him either Artemis however is smitten by him - anyways he came in saw Pann's coat and asked Artemis where her coat was or if I didn't love her as much. I promptly produced it from my purse to which he responded by rolling his eyes and whispering to Artemis "You do know that your a dog don't you?" :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown All of this dripping with sarcasm. Of course she gave him lotsa kisses (she doesn't know any better;))but I just don't understand how someone whose supposed to love animals doesn't understand my adoration of my babies. Oh well just wanted to share b/c you all understand my babies are not just dogs :) |
oh man, I would have a hard time not saying something equally as sarcastic and then finding a new vet! Mine never go out in the cold weather without coats, I always get complimented at the vets on their outfits! |
I had a vet say something similar to me one time, my response was "Really, I am glad I didn't have to go to school to become a vet to figure that one out!":D |
Some people are just not educated on smaller breeds. They don't know that Yorkies don't have an undercoat to keep them warm like most dogs. You say he is a vet? You think he would know better! |
See I knew ya'll would understans!:p Artemis is Pann's puggle sister but she gets cold too!! I can't take her outside without her coat she shivers so bad, even inside she sits by the heater to keep warm even Pann's not that cold, lol My bf want's to change vets too so we're going to look into it, which is really sad b/c a family friend works at this one so we felt really comfortable there until they hired this new guy :( Pann absolutely hates him, won't let him touch him sooo the search begins :animal-pa |
This poem was sent to me by my Yt friend Gennies and I just love it ( i thought I posted it before but don't see it so if appears twice, sorry) From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day. If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise." "Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a better person. Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. "Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day. I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog", but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man or woman." So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog" just smile... because they "just don't understand." Written by an unknown Doctor of Veterinary Medicine |
Great poem! |
Awe I am sorry he just doesn't know what he is missing, I wish more vets understood. I love mine, he is pro clothes;) |
I have seen many neighborhood dogs abused because they were "just dogs", dogs left in animal shelters because they were "just dogs", dogs dumped because they were "just dogs", dogs not vaccinated because they were "just dogs". My furbabies are members of our family and are treated as such, they have the food they need, the shelter they need (our home, our bed), the doctors and insurance they need, toys they need, a fenced yard they need. Their needs are met, just like our needs are. I feel if you can't or won't take care of an animal then don't get one. I have had people make fun of me for taking care of my babies the way I do, but it doesn't bother me, they are taken care of and treated as they should be. |
The vet I go to has different vets working at it. I just call and when I make my appoitment ask for a certain vet (I like this vet). I always make sure that the day I make the appoitment they are working, because they have a vet that I do not like. Maybe you could do the same thing? |

Maybe talk to the head vet about this? (or the person who owns this vet office) Tell them the problem and see if they could help with this problem? |

I wouldn't be offended - lots of people feel the same - doesn't mean they don't love animals - it's maybe just their way of humor |
