Can you believe this one??!!!! Ok, I have to tell you all. I thought the people who told me to give Molly back to the breeder were bad, but this one really takes the cake!! I was having my taxes done yesterday at our CPA's office and I was telling her about all of Molly's problems. Well she looks at me and seriously asks "why don't you just put her down?". I could NOT believe it! I don't even think I could get a vet to do that if I wanted them to. They would probably pefer she get a chance of adoption from a pound first. Those of you who know what we have been through know none of her problems should kill her and she has her whole life ahead of her. Not to mention all of the money, time and energy I have spent in getting her to this and that point! Some people are unbelievable!:aimeeyork |
I would of gotten up and took my business elsewhere....... Seriously I would not do business with someone that said that to me. |
I'm guessing that this person has never had the love and compionship of a beloved pet. Once you've had this you can never feel that way. It is very sad that there are people out there who do not understand. How are things going? Hopefully Molly is getting better from all the love and care that you are giving her. Have you been able to "talk" with her breeder? |
All I can say is, WOW!!! |
She must be related to our EX-groomer who said he would have Maddie's eye taken out before he paid for any surgery! I couldn't run from there fast enough. :(It is sad really. To think about living this life without the kind of love and companionship that is shared with a pet. To know you will do without before ever making your little one compromise anything.:animal-pa |
Theres alot of people out there who will say its just a dog, you can always get another one. They have never experienced the bond that comes with taking care of these prescious gifts especially the ones that need extra care. I always though my sister was the same until the time came for us to make the dissission to put Hope to sleep after a prolonged illness, she said surely they could give her something. Funny how one little 3.5lb dog can effect some-one. Now she has two dogs of her own [english cockers] I think she starting to understand. |
What an inappropriate and ignorant thing to say to someone... seriously??? I agree with the other's, most likely she's never experienced that type of bond with an animal before. I would go upside down in debt trying to fix a health issue with my girl before "putting her down." Unless it came to a point where she was no longer enjoying life. Then, for HER sake, I may consider....God willing, I never have to be in that position. I wish you all the best with Molly and hope everything turns out OK. God bless :) |
what a meanie!... |
ya just can't fix stupid! |
Did they mean "as a dependant?" |

Exactly!!! At my age I have no tolerance for ignorant insensitive people. To the OP... I would suggest that you not share some things about Molly with strangers. There are to many insensitive people who just don't understand pet owners who actually LOVE their pets as family members and not just "the dog they own" |
Im so sorry that this happened to you. When this happens I REALLY want to get mad and cry and go into a rage but instead you should pity them they will NEVER know the total love of an animal they will never have something so special to put before even there own life I know each and every one of us would give there furbaby there own kidney if need be. In that situation just smile and think of those beautiful brown eyes that look up at you with the understanding youe helping them and the total love and trust them almost scream at you with that one look of I love you mom. You have this gift you fought tooth and nail for that baby....excuse my lang. but SCREW THEM! |

As for the tax lady, in her eyes, she was probably trying to be understanding. I know some people would rather lose the dog than continue to watch them suffer and have hopes lifted then dashed at every other vet appointment. But regardless, people shouldn't offer advice on such a sensitive situation unless they know you super well! -C |
