midnight snacks and more! My recently purchased (three months ago) two year old yorkie has stopped sleeping through the night and has been getting up almost nightly. Sometimes it's for food but mostly to go out to pee. How can I get her to stop waking me at 2:00am! HELP!! |
I dont have any ideas, But your luckey atleast shes getting up to go potty. |
LOL I have no idea, Princess wakes me up at 3 every morning, just so she can have a tummy rub, Then she's back to sleep at 3:10. Yorkies! Gotta Love Them! :) |
Do you let her drink all night? I know some people leave water out all night, but I do take up her water between 8:00- 8:30pm and make sure I take her out to use the restroom one last time approx 10:30pm. She has no problem sleeping till 7:00am each morning. :p |
If I got rewarded with a treat for waking up at 2 am I would probably keep doing it, especially if I got naps throughout the day when my silly humans went off to work. I like roast beef subs with lots of horseradish and mayo or Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk, just in case anybody wants to knock on my door at 2 am. |
pick up the water and food about 2 hrs before you want to go to bed, take her out, then sleep. when she comes to you for food, she will eventually realize it is not the case anymore and you will eventually get your sleep. good luck and be tough! |
That doesn't sound fun. I assume she goes out to potty right before going to bed right? The only suggestion I would have is to limit how much she has to drink several hours before bed. Hope it gets better. |

LOL!! ME TOO! :p |
She is taken out right before bed and doesn't drink much, if any, water before bed. But she does pee every time she wakes me up to go out. |
maybe you should try to stretch it by 5/10 minute intervals. i know it will be tough, but eventually she will be able to go longer. sort of like people. if everytime you get a tinge you go, then you go all the time. but if you can let the tinge pass, you become the master!! (or mistress!!) |
