New Yorkie owner and trying to get him to warm up to us I'm Keisha and my Gilli is 2 months and 8 days old. He weigh 1lb. 2oz., right now he's not adjusting well. He doesn't want to walk around or anything. He's not even eating. I just got him Saturday, so I'm trying to make him as comfortable as I know how. |
Howdy nieghbor! He is still a little young and is very tiny! Have you called the breeder to see how his behavior was? Make sure you have nutri cal. |
I did call and leave a message. They also send video from the time the pups are born, up until they leave, and he was very lazy (if that's a good term to use). He would just be laying around on the videos as well. Stand up for a short period and lay back down, so I've been massaging his legs. |
Maybe you should take him to a vet to make sure it's nothing serious. He seems pretty small, but should be more active at that age, I would be worried. |
Thank you |

I hope he's going to be ok - I'd be concerned also |
That doesn't sound like normal puppy behavior from what I've seen. I would have him checked out. The one's I've seen were going about 90 mph chasing each other. Good luck!:) |
I just made his vet appointment, which is tomorrow at 2:30pm. |

Sounds like my Shay when I first brought him home, I used the nutri cal...with him...and it really helped...he is still on the smaller side, he is 2.7 and will be a year on the 28th of this month....I use the nutri cal if we are going anywhere, or in highly stressful situations..or when he acts funny like low key.... Have had him throughly checked out with the vet, and he is perfect.... I would have yours checked out imm., thats good you made an appointment....puts big worries to rest... Make sure you let us know how he does tommorrow at the vets....we are all worry warts here and love our lil furbabies! Sending good vibes your way, for a healthy outcome! |
hello Hi I beleive you have recieved great info from our members the best thing is to take your baby to the vet because at this time they are pretty active trying to get into everything or maybe your baby is just shy who knows but its best just to have him vet checked to cancel out any illness and with that being said goodluck with your vet visit and I am sending prayers your way for your sweet little baby .... |
Oh seeing them not eat can make a mommy sooo worried. I hope it's nothing serious. Do try to get him to eat, as well as drink, perhaps a syringe of water if you don't see him drinking much water. Praying for your vet to have wisdom and help your little baby. |
Sorry to hear about what's going on. The pup is pretty young, and Ruger didn't eat much the first couple of days after I got him. I was worried, too, but he came around pretty quick. Any new pup should be checked by a vet ASAP, IMO, and if there are any problems I would contact the breeder ASAP. |
