Are there chew toys he can't destroy????? Bo loves his chew toys, but I haven't found one yet he can't destroy. He likes the ones that makes noise when you squeeze them, especially animal noises. He can destroy one in 15min:eek: Stuffing everywhere. Is there one out there he can't destroy? |
I have the same problem. Princess destroys all toys. The only one that she has not destroyed is the kong but she does not like to play with that very much. I don't even buy stuffed toys anymore as they will not last and then there is stuffing everywhere. |
I find that the Ty Bone shaped toys can not be destroyed for some reason... they dont look particularly durable but they are the only toy in the house that has not been destroyed. |
Those TY toys are amazingly durable. |
Agree with the Ty Bones, I also have toy destroyer so that is all she gets. |
Lots of the stuff toys I bring home are good for garbage after 5min. I found that hide-a-squirrel is a pretty good stuff toy. They have been playing with it VERY ruffly for a over 6 months now and I still have 2 out of the 3 little squirrels left. Also, my dog also love their skunk stuff toy from Ty . Almost a year old and still look good coming out of the washing machine. |
Thanks, I will check into it. Bo always looks so sad when I have to get rid of his torn toys.:( |
I've found latex ones last longer than rubber or stuffed ones. Now what I really need to find are ones that my Skyes can't destroy......they've EATEN several of these..... Nylabone Products Non-Edible Big Chews BIG CHEWS for big dogs - Dino Bone & a dozen giant black Kongs. xx Meggie |
LOL! I have the same problem with Lola...she loves toys that squeak!! I can't even begin to tell you how many toys she has gone through..... |
I've been looking for more durable toys too. Turner by himself wasn't too rough on toys, but with the addition of Annabelle, who's now eight months, even the Wubba toy's in shreds--still usable so far, but definitely worse for wear. I can't personally vouch for these toys, but this website has a large assortment of the more durable dog toys. One even says they'll replace it if your dog chews down to an underneath layer. indestructable dog toys, tough chewers, tough toys, nylabone, goughnuts, water wubba, bumper, float, floating, water, retriever, chuck it, chuckit, hugglehounds, clyde the bear, rabbit, squirrel, water bottle cruncher, boomer, ball |
I like the petstages rag rope ball but they can still shred a couple of the stuffed ropes. A local lady makes dental ropes and they are pretty darn strong my dogs destroy all toys! Kong (brand) are super tough and they have mini dog ones now too. I would reccomend King but wish there was a better brand of this durability and softenss like this toy linked here:Senior is made softer puppy is safe for small dogs I prefer ONLY the soft ones. Puppy Kong Squeaker | PetEdge.com Kong Senior Dog Toys | PetEdge.com I used to say Orca (brand) but after a bit mine figured out they can bite and tear instead of just bite and they break off little pieces and would eat them-not sure if they or how much ate of them. Scoobers & Elvis now will "kill" anything with a squeeker-Scoobers however will not stop until he has ripped the squeaker out of it then he's done with it-poor Elvis only likes toys that squeak, so he only gets them when Scoobers isn't in the room. In general I offer this warning-going harder isn't better... Yorkies especially have dental issues. You cannot replace dog teeth. Yorkies are a breed vets recommend only giving soft chew treats to so why would you give a hard toy to them? Sometimes cleaning up the mess is worth it. |
Morning everyone! Harry is a destroyer-of-toys too. Even a Kong can disappear in half an hour. I've given up buying soft toys - worried about him eating the stuffing, and the stuffing-less toys are gone in moments. What we've taken to doing is this - every time we've 'worn out' a pair of socks, I wash them, knot them in the middle and then re-knot them a few more times. They actually last for a week or two before they get too stringy and I have to throw them away. They're relatively soft and kinder on their teeth and gums, too :):socks: Sally + Harry x |
1 Attachment(s) Just this week, Roxie destroyed in mere moments the cute little Christmas bear we bought her for her Christmas card pictures. There was stuffing everywhere...the poor thing never stood a chance! Her FAVORITE toy of all time has been her pink KONG Wubba. She's had it now for two years, and it is still in perfect condition. We throw it, she tugs it and chews it, and it's been washed in the machine a hundred times...still perfect. |
I let Mina tear the stuffing out (teddy bear brains), throw the stuffing away and sew the lil critter back up. I found some tiny tennis balls that squeek, but those are for Christmas. She REALLY has a thing for squeeking, over and over and over and over, usually during the news when we are trying to watch. |
I was thinking a Kong as well. Katie Scarlett loves hers! |
