Native Trails thread 4 Attachment(s) *Sigh* so the last one didn't work... :( I have 3 cats and one yorkie, his name is Marc Anthony but I named him Snoopy. Snoop will be 2 on march 16th so he's still a bit of a brat ;) I am a bit of a photographer so I will be posting as many pictures as I can hehe. Currently I am purchasing (for lack of a better word) Mutt, he has a bit of yorkie in him. I get the little guy on march 25th so I am very excited! Here are some...semi-current pics of Snoopy Attachment 308602 Attachment 308600 Attachment 308601 Attachment 308603 |

Snoopy is a cutie!! Love pictures! Congrats on getting No name. He looks like a love. I like the name River Jordan and then I would call him Jordan. Can't wait to see pics of them together. |
your puppy looks like my Gwennie. Gwennie is a chihuahua Shetland sheepdog mix |

- EDIT I think I'll call him Jordie. His show name would be Native Trails River Jordan. Quote:

Snoopy decided today would be a good day to bark and BARK at the door, unfortunately I know what that means....looooong walk. I got him in his little coat and donned my boots (it's +3 degrees C here so it's SLOPPY). He was having so much fun, running around and playing. 4.7 KM's later we finally decided to head back. As soon as we got to the gate Snoop stopped dead, wouldn't move. *sigh* I kicked a pice of snow, waiting for him to make up his mind, and he RAN after it. We have discovered a new game, I throw a piece of snow into the air and he jumps! I played with the snowballs for a bit before letting him inside, he was so soaked that I had to use a hairdryer after 1/2 and hour. He didn't like that. That was our day. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Here is No name's story: I have been looking for a "dream dog" for 6 months. Going from Tamaskans to Malamutes, to huskies, even to a NAID Native American Indian Dog Unfortunately no dice. The dogs ranged from $2000.00 to $700.00 which was just not in my budget. I decided to make an ad on kijiji.com as that's where we found Snoopy ;) I posted an ad asking for a husky. There were some promising offers but after a few visits to TERRIBLE homes and borderline puppy mills everything fell through. My sister told me just to look around on Kijiji to see. I searched Shibas, huskies, labs (lots but...meh), and shepherds. My sis bumped me away from the computer and searched sheltie. Many offers but, again, too expensive. I asked about 4-5 ads and got a few answers on cockapoos and one really snooty lady, then a rational response! I asked for info and..... :yay_jump: Quote:
I am so excited and am beginning to plan my budget (for collars and food). Thanks for reading, I had to ramble ;) More pictures below :D |
I loved looking at you pictures! Thank you for sharing! Snoopy is a sweetie for sure! He reminds me a lot of my Maddy. I love the way he does the 'one ear up and one ear down' thing. He looks like quite the little ham! It was a beautiful day here in Calgary, huh? I couldn't get Maddy in the house either-he stayed outside in the backyard for over an hour just playing in the snow. Good luck with your new puppy and congratulations! Maybe we will see you in Fish Creek park sometime! |
What a great story in how you found your new pup. I didn't tell you earlier that Snoopy is one of my favorite names and I have had a lifetime of love for the fabled Snoopy cartoon character.:D |
I was going to say that is some walk you guys took! Wow! We do a third of that or close to it most days! |

The one ear up thing is (so I've heard) because if you pet one side too much when the are a puppy it stunts it a tad...I'm not sure if it makes sense but that's ok. I think it gives him a quizzical look. |

You can see how short I trim his legs in this picture but in this one you can see that I do keep his hair quite long in the face, body, and back. |
With a heavy heart I write this, little no name was diagnosed with a severe liver disorder that could only be survived with a $1000.00 procedure (liver replacement surgery, a biopsy, and a 2 week stay at the vet emergency hospital) and the rest of his life contained and drugged. The breeder and I came to the consensus that he will be put down :'( Everytime he ate his liver became badly bloated and pushed on his stomach. He is much to fragile to survive the treatment and surgery, the vet said he had about a 15% chance of fully recovering. As much as I would love to save him, he would not live life to it's fullest. The breeder has kindly offered to give me another pup for only the cost of the vet bill ($150 because of all the extra genetic tests, x-rays, ect... vs $600) I sadly accepted because I know no name (dubbed Junior) would want his buddies to have a good home. I am going tomorrow (Junior will be euthanized tomorrow morning) evening to see his fellow littermates, and hopefully find a match for me. I feel like I am turning my back on Junior and it may look like that to others but I love Junior....and there is nothing I can do but love his on his last day. RIP little Junior. <3 |
I'm sorry you're hurting... That is so sad. I'm so sorry this happened to him. I agree with what you both have decided. I believe you're decision was the only possible choice for him. I do wish you luck tomorrow morning in finding another puppy. You haven't turned your back on him. He'll be rejoicing at Rainbow Bridge, because then he will no longer be suffering. |
As promised I have added more pictures, not all of them are of Snoopy but some are. The album was UPDATED so the last few pictures are the new...ahem**, OLD ones ;) CLICK HERE |
