Welcome! You will find lots of information here I am sure. I know I have! Hope you find your new pet soon! |
Thanks so much! :) it is a lil depressing.....I have emailed many, many ads. Almost everyone emails back saying they relocated out of state and all I need to do is pay the shipping! And everyone replies with the same location they are living in! I would have to go to the airport to pick the puppy/puppies up after I pay the $200.00-$350.00 shipping fee. Well obviously I would never do that! it takes all kinds :( |
Oh I completely understand. We went through the same thing when trying to find our guy. We ended up finding him from a nice family through our local craigslist. If your area has one check it out. They are not allowed to "sell" animals only rehoome with a small fee. The website is www.yourtownsname.craigslist.org You can usually spot the scammers on there very easily. We never had much luck with Yorkie rescues either because we have kids they did not want to adopt to us. Even though our kids are 10 and 8. |
Yes, I check Craig's List daily. There is a guy selling 3 of them. It said fee and it is $500.00 and he will not budge. I actually spoke to him on the phone. I wish someone can me if $500.00 is alot for an adoption? here is the link if you would like to see it. http://newyork.craigslist.org/brx/pet/1603052960.html Thanks! |
There is a guy on craig's list under NYC selling 3 of them for $500.00 each. I found this out when I called and asked what the fee was. He would not budge! Then he said he has 1 female left. I would love her but I am not sure where he got them. He said he is not a breeder. here is the link if you are interested in seeing. :aimeeyork http://newyork.craigslist.org/brx/pet/1603052960.html |
Well I think the fee depends on the fee you want to pay. Most people would not consider $500 to be very high, some would find it to much. The fee you want to pay is totally up to you. We found an older Yorkie (1yr) to adopt from a wonderful family for less than that but it wasn't about the $ for me it was about the precious doggie. I have even seen a few Free ones on there but of course those are few and far between. I would say that if he had 3 originally he most likely is a backyard breeder and you don't want one of his pups. Your best bet on a place like Craigslist is to find an older dog that needs rehoming. Most young pups belong to BYB's. Also when you are looking don't get caught up in the price or how bad you want one. Wait until you find the perfect fit for you and your family. |
