Just goes to show...a yorkie can win anyone over! A few months back I mentioned that I had to move in with my mom temporarily and had to make JoJo stay with my dad (they're divorced) because my mom is terrified of dogs and could never stand them. She refused to allow JoJo in her home no matter what. Well, since then whenever I would visit her I would purposely bring him with me, just for short spurts of time, to try to get her used to him. At first, she would curse at me (lol) and run away from him screaming in terror LOL. Of course, he thought it was a game, so he'd chase her haha!! Anyway, fast forward a few months, and now my mom absolutely adores him! And get this...she even babysits him for me!!! I swear, it's like a miracle! She rubs his belly and buys him treats, and she loves to feed him. My little furball has managed to make something happen that I never thought I'd see in my life! Anyway, I just had to share this. :p |
That's lovely. Mine are adored by both my sister in laws. They spoil them too much though. (if you can. lol.) It's definitely put your mind at rest now they're friends. Hugs Shirl x x |
aww what a sweet story..i'm so glad they get along now!! :) |
You have to be proud of him! :) I bet your mom will want a Yorkie of her own very soon. |
How wonderful. Think of all the joy that you and JoJo have brought into your mom's life! Maybe some day she might even want one of her own! |
That is toooooo sweet!!! I am glad that your mom loves your baby now! These guys are just so adorable and sweet...makes it tough to not fall head-over-heels. :) |
Awww, I am so happy for you and your mom. There's nothing in the world that can win your heart like a cuddly, loving little yorkie. My yorkie Diva has won over many people that were afraid of dogs, or thought dogs were nasty, dirty creatures. Her latest conquest is the 7 year old daughter of my teacher's assistant. Reagan was terrified of dogs until the first time she saw Diva. Diva was wearing one of her favorite outfits and just sat very quietly in my lap looking at Reagan wagging her tail. After a few minutes Reagan eased closer to me asking questions about Diva, while I assured her that Diva was sweet and would never ever bite her. Reagan finally got brave enough to pet Diva's back. I swear Diva knew she was scared and was still as a mouse except for her tail wagging ninety to nothing. LOL By the end of the hour, Reagan was holding Diva and begging her mom for a dog just like Diva. Diva is my heart and my hero for how she behaves around everyone, even those that are scared of her at first. |
That is sooo sweet, my mom was just here from Florida, she gets up super early , when I got up at 6:30 Laci and my mom were both gone.. she had already leashed her up and was on a walk they were gone for over an hour..!! My mom just loves her.. my dog is a traitor.. she slept with my mom the whole time she was here!! |

My father wasn't afraid of dogs, but he has surprised me how much interest he has taken in Maximo. He proudly tells people that he has 4 grandsons, and 1 grandpup. (I'm not sure how my nephews feel about a dog getting equal recognition LOL!) |
That's wonderful...hurray for JoJo! I'll bet your dad misses JoJo, too. :yorkiesar |
My daughter's BF is SWAT: to him a dog is a Shep, or Rottie, or Dobie. Yorkies are RATS  . Well, after a few months, he has Puddie (the male) spoiled rotten, and carries him around in his arms like a baby, rubbing his belly and singing little songs he makes up for him on the fly. If any of his buddies saw him, he'd never live it down, but there it is anyway :D Yorkies are AMAZING beasties. |
What a sweet story! I have not met anyone who could not be won over by a yorkie. They are just too cute. |
What a sweet story. :yorkiesar |
