Concerned Reese has started some behavriol issues lately...for instance she does not like us to touch her on her back, last night in bed I was feeling along down her spine, I always inspect her every now and then, I don't know why...I guess just checking for weird things. But last night she would growl and bite at me, and she does not want me to touch her on her sides. So it makes me worry that something is bothering her, or maybe she is tickleish. I don't know! Do any of your puppies do this? |
It sounds like Reese might be in pain? I would get her to a vet immediately, it could be something serious :( |
Im not sure...she doesn't act like shes in pain when shes playing, and she jumps up on the couch. I mean she has never fell back there...im just totally confused |
Jumping on and off furniture can cause back problems in toy breeds. She needs to see a vet. |
First, rule out pain. Second, nip this in the butt NOW! You do not want a dog growling at you for petting/touching/etc. My dad's Jack Russell mix is like this and it is so not cool. You can go and pet her and if she's not in the mood... she will show her teeth and/or growl at you. I immediately will tell her "no growl!" and continue to pet her. She's not in pain, she's just a little spoiled brat, LOL. You don't want your dog to be like my dad's dog because she's bitten a few times and left a pretty big mark on me. |

I think I have ruled out the pain part. She lets her daddy rub on her lower back and all and does not do this to him, and if he's in here she won't growl and snip at me. I don't know what her deal is...other than this she is a mommy's girl all the way. |
I would take her to the vet just to be sure. This change in behavior suggests something could be wrong. I wouldn't want to take any chances with her health. Maddie acts different with dh and me, BUT she always has. He likes to play and rough house her a bit and I always cuddle and kiss on her. When I reach to her, she immediatly rolls over for belly kisses. Daddy reaches for her and she goes into play 'attack' mode. Like I said though, she has done this from the time she was little. If she EVER growled or bit at me I would know something was wrong. |
