Help! Hello everyone, I have a quick question, sorry I have not been on for a long time but I have been very busy. My babies are doing great. The boy went home with his new family about two weeks ago and he is beautiful. I stayed with the little girl because she was very attached to me. I have a problem though, today I realized that she did pooh pooh and when I came to clean it up it was gone. I figured she ate it (yuk) can someone tell me if this is something that can get her sick and if so what can I do about it. She eats perfectly well and she has never done this before. Can someone answer me please? |
Puppies and even some older pups will eat their own poop. It's perfectly normal - yucky, but normal, it won't make her sick. There are some products you can put into their food so that when they poop, they will not eat it. I think I read where you can put pineapple in their food and they will not eat their poop. |
I have heard that this can be a normal thing for our furkids to do...here is a link that you might find helpful...http://familyfun.go.com/parenting/le...petveteatpoop/ |
Thanks a lot guys. You have been very helpful. I will try post new pics of my babies soon. Bye for now. |
Oh boy pictures are coming...I love pix ;) |
That is yucky! I never know they did that!!! |
Yukky but they do it. My Sophie just went thru this ( she is 6 mo today) and I got a product called D-ter at the Petsmart. Its in tablets and gave her 1/2 a day for 2 weeks and it did the trick. It must be good tasting because she ate it (the tablets) like they were a real treat and my older girls wanted to try to push Sophie out of the way and get it. They didn't cause they don't need it and I hope they ( the smart little rascals ) don't figure why Sophie was getting the treat and they start that nasty habit too. That would be my luck cause we all know they are to smart for our own good (he he ) Gotta go they want to play Helen, Mom to Sophie , Sara, Fancy.Spencer and Jake |
i know that other dogs will eat the poo too. i had a problem where my older dog would "snack" in the cat box. the tell tale sign? litter on her nose! |
