Bravo916 | 02-04-2010 01:41 PM | Rehoming a rescue--help with a rehoming contract A month ago I took in a the sweetest little rescue boy ever. His owners were surrendering him because they "didnt have time for him." Granted he had a full bowl (albeit, kibbles'n bits *yuck!*) he was neglected in every other way.
Anywho, he has been living with my pack and is doing WONDERFULLY!! I have been able to resolve almost all of this behavioral issues (seperation anxiety is a work-in-progress), changed his diet, gotten him medical care and given him tons of love and now this little boy is GLOWING! He is the sweetest most easy-going dog and would make anyone a great pet.
I am in the process of interviewing applicants and think I have found the perfect home for him. Now I just need help with a contract.
Does anyone have a contract I could borrow and ammend to my purposes? The main points I am looking for are: If ever the adopting home cannot keep him for whatever reason he is to be returned to me No expressed or implied warranties (by this I just mean that at the time I am placing him, my vet has determined he is healthy and fit for adoption. If in the event a condition presents in the future be it age-related, hereditary or otherwise I am not responsible Release of liability--I have worked extremely hard in socializing him and believe that he does not have any indications of being aggressive. If, in the very minute possibility he were to bite it would be an unforseeable event and I am not responsible I just want to make sure I CYOA ;) Who would have ever thought it was so much work to place a dog. |
