Ok so now I dont want my little one sleeping in my bed But he has been for months and dont know how to break the habit. If I don't let him come on the bed he complains. |
i let rex sleep with me almost every night. but some nights i just keep him in his xpen and he will cry or he will grad a toy and run around his pen crying to play lol little brat always geting his way :D so then i pick him up and he drops the toy and i put him on my bed he finds his spot an passes out cold! then ill wait for about an hour and put him back in his bed and he wont move till he wakes up to go potty. really i have no advice because im the worst when it comes to giving in. i just cant say no. |
Don't start habits you don't want to have! lol An ex-pen, a closed door, or a kennel, and a couple of sleepless nights! Don't even speak, to calm the pup, just ignore! Make sure there is NOTHING that it can hurt, or that can hurt him, (that way you know that the noise, is just noise) ~take off the collar, to catch ~no toys, that can be damages, or that he can choke on ~no wires, to get tangle in, or pull something down ~etc... Make a bed time routine, his grooming, snack, walk, massage, bedtime story, lol, whatever you want... Put in ear plugs and go to bed! There are people who will disagree... |

Victoria put a baby gate at the door to the master bedroom and made the Yorkie sleep in a bed on the other side of the gate. The Yorkie barked in complaint most of the first night. :animal36 |
Seems harsh, to some people, but it gets the job done. ;) :) |

My dogs always slept in the bed with me but lately I am getting a little tired of it each night. We have two yorkies and a bull terrier. Blankets get hogged as well as pillows and to make matters worse my daughter likes to come in the bed too so it's hard to get a good nights sleep. We love cuddles so we save it to some bed time cuddles and then every one goes into their own beds in their rooms. My bull terrier sleeps in her crate and the yorkies have beds in their "room" and I put a gate up at the door of the laundry room because it is very large. I leave their food, water and pads out to use as well as their beds. They wined a bit the first night or two but we said good night and they went to sleep. Now they only will cry in the morning. They are always so excited to say good morning now :) |

LOL...I get it:rolleyes: |
I think once you start it is hard not too! I have always let Daisy sleep with us and she is a bed hog. Pixie sleeps in a crate near my side of the bed and eventually I probably will let her sleep with me she gets to take naps with me and loves to cuddle! When my husband and I want to have a romantic evening we just give Daisy a bully stick and she goes in the living room. It is kind of a joke between the two of us. Daisy gets her bully stick when Daddy wants some. lol:p |
