Do you prefer when they are dependent or independent? I always hear ppl say that the female Yorkies are more independent than the males. I have had 4 females so far and in my case I don't see this to be true. Sophie was the most dependent on me. Now I would say Maggie is dependent on me as well. She does not like to be away from me, always wants to be where I am, and to be held. London I would say is the most independent but she is still very dependent. She loves to be held, demands it actually. Loves being in my lap prob. 24/7 lol And little Livie is a mix of both. She likes to cuddle and be held but also goes exploring on her own a lot. Teddy, my male is the most independent out of all of them. He likes giving kisses, being pet but does not like it very long. He likes to hold his own lol He is most dependent when I go somewhere w/o him. He hates that! I actually prefer when they are more dependent on me. I like it, it makes me feel needed:D :p So is your dog more dependent or independent and how do you like it? |
I've only had two males; first one very cuddly and dependent. Maxwell totally independent, almost like a cat. |
I have 3 yorkies. Daisy only wants to be held when she is ready. Bo is the same way,but a little more loving . Rosco on the other hand wants your undivided attention every waking hour. I'm so jealous Daisy will let my hubby love all over her. I think when she sees me coming she thinks I am going to clean her butt or wash her eyes:rolleyes:. I told my husband she thinks I'm the bad guy. Someone has to clean her:) |
Missy is independant and Dora is dependant. I love that they are both so totally different. |
I prefer them to be dependent but it makes life hard on you. I always fill guilty when I have to leave them and they get so upset. |
Lilee is a mix of both - loves to go exploring, but loves to be held and is always looking for me wherever I am ;) |
well rex is my first baby ever and he wants my undivided attention 24/7. I love it thought. he hates to be alone and i feel so guilty leaving me :( but when im not there he will cuddle up to my mom or brother or my boyfriend...my dad is the last resort lol rex is not to fond of him. but as soon as i come home he doesn't care about anyone but me and i don't care about anyone but him lol. i love the affection from him because no mater what he is always happy to see me. he is the best thing that's happen to me :D and wouldn't have it another way. i love my little man  |
I always had males except for 1 female yorkie years ago and now I have a female. I prefer girls. I think they are more affectionate and are more of a ham. Vicki |

My two girls like to be held and cuddled, but move their face away when I try to kiss them. Our boy is a real hug bug and loved to be kissed and cuddled. He's only 7 months but hope he doesn't out grow it. I think they're all different. Hugs Shirl x x |
I only have Missy so no male to compare to but she does seem to be pretty independent. Not a real cuddle bug, only when she is tired or there is food around! Life is busy at times so I guess that it is good that she isn't too dependent, though she is usually with my husband or I and rarely alone. She is content to do her own thing, explore and play etc. She is only 4 months though and does sleep alot too! |
Tia is a bit of both. Independant in a way that I can leave her with anyone and entertain herself when Im at work(I know this as I videoed her)and dependant where she loves her fav spot(crook of my arm) for cuddles and of course if she gets involved in a bit of rough play and gets hurt, its always mummy that rubs it better lol |
I prefer the independent type. My Farrah loves to cuddle but would rather play at this point. (almost 13 weeks) |
Both my little precious yorkie, Jasmine and my adorable toy poodle, Prissy are both very dependent. They are both cuddle-bugs, on your lap-in your face, happy little furbabies that are with me all the time and I love it. Have a Great day! |
I think a dog should be in between. |
