Pet relocation company? Hi all, Have you ever moved to different states or country with your pet? If so, have you ever hired a pet relocation company? If so, please provide any recommendation of any pet relocation company. Also, how was did you pay for it? Thanks!!! |
Honestly, I have never heard of a pet relocation company. What exactly are they used for? |
We moved from Illinois to Florida and back to Illinois with our dogs and never needed a relocation company. My husband took one in the pick-up truck with him and I took the other in the car with me and off we went...they did just fine. What exactly do you want or need a relocation company for? I'm not sure what you're looking for...someone to move your animals for you or someone to get things adjusted for them once you get moved? |
Hmmm, I don't know what a Pet Relocaton Co. is either???? What are they for? |
If you are talking about moving out of the country I have delt with DEFRA this is who you will have to deal with if you are heading to the UK or anywhere in the European Union. It is a very long process time wise and the forms can be a little complicated. |
This isn't for your Yorkie is it? I thought that they did mostly large animals, horses or exotic animals. I think they would crate a dog, and it doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. I can't imagine Joey riding next to a Lion; Joey would drive the Lion nuts! |
Air Animal moves pets domestically and internationally: Welcome to Air Animal Pet Moving Services They'll tell you what paperwork you need and walk you through the process, then handle the animal's move with the shortest delay. Their website is pretty comprehensive, and you can always call them for specific information. |
I am planning to move to China this year and definitely and will be taking Chloe with me. Oh my poor baby, she is going to be lost in translation! :p A pet relocation company is help you arrange all the paperworks and everything you need when you import your pet to a different country. You cannot just move with your pet to a different county if you do not file all the necessary paperwork for your pet and vet records, etc. I know in China, every dog will have an "ID" and there is a limit how many dogs you can have in a household. It might vary province from province though. My hubby's aunt moved with their dog from state of VA to Shanghai and they used a Pet relocation company. So they will handle all the paper work and procedure. It was a door to door service. I don't think I will need a door to door service for Chloe since I want her to travel with me inside the cabin on the plane. And she is a small dog. My aunt has a medium sized dog I believe. Just think of a Pet relocation company is like when you (human) move to a different county, you need to file all the paperworks and get visa, etc. In a way, I think Pet relocation company is like a "lawyer" who will handle all the paper work. My aunt told me the service she paid for the pet relocation company, door to door service, was over $4000!!! |
You can do it a lot cheaper than that. But if you are heading out next year your need to get started now reviewing the regulations. It takes from 9 to 12 months to ship to the UK, you may need to apply for a pet passport, along with having all vaccinations given again then a blood test done after a specified amount of time. Again you need to start researching now so your little furbaby is not quarantined on arrival. |

I know that Norway for example does not have rabies... nope no rabies in their country. Thus, they demand like a 6 mo quarantine when bringing in pets  I understand the reasoning but I could never do that to my 'kids'. |

I agree you need to read, read, read. Each providence is different and don't think they won't kill your dog if you try to bring him/her into a providence that won't allow this. This is not the place to be asking questions and depend on the answers for the sake of your dog. |
