What's the difference?
 
Hi everyone!

I have a male yorkie, and now I'm thinking of getting a female. But I was wondering what is the difference between a male and a female yorkie, personality wise I mean. Is it true that female yorkies are more moody?

I have one female amongst 3 males and yes I can safely say there is a personality difference. She is the boss of them and is very particular about what she will take from them. The boys are all laid back individuals whereas she very fussy and will not tolerate much, god love her, she's the queen of the pack. :)

We have 2 girls and a boy (he's 7 months.) Our boy is soo loving, much more than the girls.

I think it depends on the dog. All of my babies are very loving. Bentley is the protector and thinks he has to protect the girls. :rolleyes: He is the jealous fireball. My girls are more laid back and love to cuddle.

I have to agree with you, Kristie. Rily is more of a momma's boy, but he is also more rowdy. He gets the zoomies more and plays "ruffer." He also seems to be both a little jealous of and for Saydee. :rolleyes: He has never hurt Saydee, but when I try to give her one on one time, he will try to distract her. It's like she is his playmate and only his playmate and I'm his mommy and only his mommy. :rolleyes: Saydee is very loving, but she does tend to go her own way a lot too. Rily was much easier to potty train. I just got the book to train in seven days to work on Saydee....wish me luck! :p

Could please give me the title of the book on potty training in seven days.
Zoey needs some work. Other night 230 and 430 am she was crated and let me know that she had to go, real bad, formed but soft. Didn't go more than 5-6 steps and she went so I know she was potty trained to a degree. Zack and Zeke are very good about going outside.

We as people have these preconceived notions about what a male and what a female should act like

But these notions have nothing to do with dogs

Males and females can be rough shy combative docile ..... it depends on the dog

Although it could all be in my imagination it seems to me that out of everyone I know they think boys are more laid back and loving. As far as my opinion My girl is high strung and well lets just say shes a handful..and her brother from the same litter is calm, quiet, and very affectionate.

I only have my male Zeus. He is a total Mama's boy. He is very calm and mellow compared to most dogs I see. No matter what you get you can't go wrong!

My boys are sweeter and like to cuddle a lot more. My female is an alpha female...very independent, she is def the boss.

I have 3 boys & 3 girls, I have to say that they are all lovey. My girls are more lovey than my boys some days and vise versa. It depends on there moods.:rolleyes:

my little billie is very affectionate i havent seen her 'alpha' side but i think it will come out when i add a new pup to the family. i want to add a girl pup but lots of posts throughout this site make me think a boy would be a better match. I am hoping when i go to meet the new puppies it wil be clear to me then which one is coming home with us!

:thumbup: I havn't seen Tias either. She is the sweetest little thing and always wants to cuddle her mummy .Like you ,maybe when I add a new pup this summer it may change but I don't think so.By the way Im adding a male.
