Friday...2 yorkies, 2 surgeries This Friday, Denero is getting neutered and Romeo is having two baby teeth pulled. I think I'm more nervous about the tooth extraction since I've already been through the neutering with Romeo. I was told they put him to sleep since they cut his gums a little for the tooth extraction. Is this the norm? It's his two upper canines...the adult ones came in right beside and those two didn't fall out. The vet said they needed to go so I scheduled both dogs at the same time since I have to take a day off work. Will he be able to eat normal right away? My husband is nervous about leaving them alone since they give each other such a hard time so he is taking Monday off to be with them. I'd appreciate any experiences with the tooth pulling since this one is new to me.... |
From what I have heard and read, they do put them "under" for tooth extractions...When Yoda was neutered he also had two upper teeth pulled...He was eating fine the next day, just a little slower. |
Zoe never has had any surgeries so far but we will keep your little ones in our prayes today .... good luck....I'm sure everything will be fine.. let us know how everything worked out.... |
((((((( Denero & Romeo ))))))) We will be thinking of them!! Sending hugs! :) |
Both are usually simple procedures but I sure will keep your babies in my prayers - Cheri had 4 teeth pulled & her spay surgery .... and was wanting to eat that same night...and playing the next day - I just wouldn't let her do anything and that was harder than the actual recovery |
When Codie was neutered, he had 9 baby teeth removed and when Katie was spayed, she also had 9 baby teeth removed. They were both perfectly fine the next day and eating like little piggies. :p |
We just had Stormy & Kodah spayed & micro-chipped ten days ago - they actually get their stitches out this afternoon! YEAH!!! The morning of surgery, Kodah weighed in at 2.1 pounds which made me a little nervous, but she was eight months old & the vet assured me she would do fine. She was spayed, chipped & had FOUR baby teeth pulled. After picking them up, they slept for several hours & then Kodah started going towards her food! They told me they could have about half their normal amount of dried food that evening - I couldn't believe she was even wanting any!!! No kidding - the next day, Kodah acted like she had never had anything done to her; whereas, Stormy (who weighs 4 lbs) just laid around & ate hardly anything (I think her stitches bugged her more than anything). I was pleasantly surprised that the teeth pulling did not seem to bother Kodah at all! - I hope the same is true for Romeo!!!!!! |
ya'll are making me feel so much better!!! Thanks!!! |
