girls vs boys prices can someone let me know why girl pups are more expensive than boys? when its on a spay/neuter contract then what would the difference be? thanks! |
They are more in demand than males |

thanks so much! |
I love my boy dogs. Even if the price were instead higher for males, I would buy another. |
I was planning on getting a female when I decided to get a yorkie, the lady I bought from only had males so I got Bailey, I am so happy with my boy, I wouldn't trade him for a million girls! :p |
me too was looking for a girl and my lady only had a boy so I got him and he is the best! he is so lovable, so trainable, he is a great pup, the only reason i wanted a girl so i could dress her so cute, but i'm dressing axel just as cute! he has on a little red polo shirt today sooooo cute! we just love him and i'm glad i got a boy now. |

Males really make better pets. Girls are priced higher because everyone thinks they want a female, supply and demand. |
LOVE my boys. I thought at first I would want girls but they were always taken. So I tried a boy...Loved him. Then we got Mickey. Boys are really lovable (to me). |
I love my Duke. He's such a mama's boy...lol I wouldn't trade him for the world. Someday I wouldn't mind a little girl too. He was much cheaper to get neutered than a spay would have been as well. |

Plus, boys seem to be easier to potty train. |
I think it is the demand for little girls, with all the cute clothes they have. I have one of each and I love them both! I think I still favor Finnigan b/c he was my first furbaby and he's so lovable and wants nothing but to please please please me... I also have more clothes for Finnigan than I do Gwenni mostly because we really only dress in the winters and Gwenni doesn't seem to get as cold as Finni. I think every dog has their own personality though, no 2 are alike... I still find myself wanting more puppies!! I'm not sure what sex I'd get in my next pup though. I'm staying with one of each too hard of a decision. |
Yeah I had to pay alot more for Chloe than I did her brother, Which I bought for my mom, Chloe however did not come with a spay contract. but I will be getting her spayed anyhow as she is so tiny and I don't want her to have pups. (Shes only 3 lbs) |
I think it is just like having kids. You love whatever you have been blessed with male or female! Boy I sure love my Mama's boy! And we wanted a girl but took what the breeder had. He was meant to be ours. |

:thumbup::thumbup: I totally agree. A fixed male is a dream to have! I cannot believe I never considered a boy until now. I love my boy, he is SO sweet, cuddly and smart. I'm a total suck for him. AND He has long hair too ;) |
We love our girls. I think it is just a preference thing as to want one wants and like others have said the price is do to the demand. |
I always had girl dogs growing up. It was just a preference of my dad's, he always thought girl dogs were better and not as "gross" so we always just had female dogs. Jackson is my first male dog and I'm sold on the little boys! I just LOVE them! I don't know if I'll ever own a female again (not that I dislike them, LOL, if the right one came along, then yeah) but there's just something I love about the little boys. I also began dogsitting for 2 male Boxers and they are so lovey and cuddly. |
I had wanted a girl too and the breeder only had boys available but I love my little guy, Jussi is so lovable and full of energy. He was so easy to hpotty train although he is just a little spoiled (LOL). He doesn't know the meaning of the word "stranger". He is very socialable and use to having lots of visitors and he loves our grandchildren since it seems there is always someone here and everybody loves him. He always has kisses for anybody that comes around and they spoil and play with him too. |
I have a female at the moment( only due to having a house full of men lol) and she is the cuddliest perfection I have ever known however I am planning on getting a little prince to be a playmate for my princess this summer. To be honest you can't go wrong with this breed be it male or female in my opinion.:D |
Hehe, I have 3 boys (2 yorkies and a cat) and I love them. :D When I was getting Jimi, I thought I wanted a female because I wanted to be able to dress her up and put bows in her hair, etc. But.. the breeder only had boys left so that is what I ended up with! Lol, plus now we all know that the boys can dress up too. :) |

I have a female that I've been told cuddles and acts like a male and I agree--she's completely attached to me, not as independent as females are "considered" to be. It just depends on their personality. Not to mention she absolutely loves on EVERYONE. |
