Oh, I didn't mean to sound like you're leaving them in the car, but I have left mine in the car before (I don't anymore though), with all 4 windows cracked, ONLY while I ran into a Quik Trip for a gallon of milk.

What kind of stroller do you use? I need one that's pretty easy to pop in and out of the car.

Could you go for a ride a couple times a week depending on weather to a new neighrborhood or park?

We always go all over our city and towns for new trails, parks and sights to see. The dogs LOVE it. We go out like this more then we do around our home so it's different every time.

Yes!! I was doing that for awhile and found a few places (but then the gas $ was getting low, lol) and they loved it too. But still, it's me ALONE with them and I'm not sure which areas are safe for me walking 2 tiny yorkies. I need another ME to go with us!! haha

I am wayyyyy too "freaky Mama" to leave my girls out of my sight for a second. They're pretty darn cute, and someone might steal them! ;)

I use the PetGear Stroller, the AT3 All Terrain model because I like to take them running sometimes. It's good for going on trails and stuff too because it has the big wheels.

Here's pics of the girls in their stroller. :)

LOL "wayyy too freaky Mama"! So am I, so I totally understand! DARLING babies you have there and nice stroller. I'm wondering if I should get one that size, or a little bigger because mine are both 5 lbs. Do you know the inside measurements of yours by any chance?

You could definitely fit both of your 5 lbers in this stroller. The stroller would probably fit 4 yorkies with room to spare. I put my 20 lb pug in there with both my yorkie girls the first night that I bought it. I wouldn't keep them all in there for long periods of time, but they did fit. I just ran down and measured it for you. The area that they sit in is 30" long and 15" wide. I hope that helps!

I walk alone too most of the time. When my son comes with me, I love it, cause he can walk Ringo and I can walk Lucy.

I've bout decided to get me a can of pepper spray or something. I love to walk this one trail . . . but can get spooky if no one is there.

Early on, when we just had Ringo, two men had let their German Shephards run loose. Matt reached down and picked Ringo up and their dogs started circling around my son; Ringo was growling and I was scared to death. Meanwhile, the men were calling their dogs - who weren't listening BTW, and yelling at me . . 'They're friendly".

Yeah right. Not when they are circling around my son with his little Westie in his arms.

They called their dogs off; but I've never forgotten how scared I was.

Maybe pepper spray or something is the answer.

I was just thinking today that I am going to buy pepper spray. Today we got totally rushed by a HUGE black dog (off leash, just like all the dogs are around here). The way it approached, I wasn't sure if it meant business or not. I had my 3 kids and 2 yorkies with me. Thankfully my kids are use to all sizes of dogs, and weren't phased by it, but I couldn't help but to think of what could have happened. That dog was almost as big as I am!

My dogs are 2 and 4 pounds.... My boyfriend take them for a mile walk every single night. They love their walk so much. We live in a very dog friendly neighborhood, so they encounter lots of k9s..... we jsut keep them in a harness and on a very short leash and we keep our eyes peeled. We have lots of owls in our neighborhood and the occasional coyote, but I just stay really alert and as I said, I keep them on a short leash so god forbid something were to happen we could scoop them up quickly. We also always walk the babies together so that my BF is in charge of Hendrix and I am in charge of Lucy.

I am sure you are fine to walk them..... just be on your toes.

Ahhhh be sooooo careful leaving them in the car--- I know two people who have had their dogs stolen while just running into the gas station ...... terrifies me! People are terrible now a days.... I couldn't imagine stealing somebodies pet. Just be careful ;)

I was about to order the AT3 All Terrain Pet Stroller when I saw the 'reviews' and one said the front edge doesn't stay up unless it is zipped shut. Said her dogs liked the top open. Do you have that problem? So far, out of all the strollers I've checked out, this one is perfect for me but I'd like to leave the top down, or at least have that option.

At3

I have the AT3 and have never had a problem with it open or closed, and when we're camping in the cold with a bit of wind, the wind screen is wonderful. Those wheels will go over any terrain.

I'm scared to leave mine in the car for any length of time..scared to death of them getting stolen. When we travel I won't even go into a restraurant to eat and leave them. Way too paranoid.

I have 4 dogs total, the 2 youngest being little yorkies and if you do use a well fitting harness and coupler leash like you get from Chattiesmom, you can grab them up pretty darn fast when danger shows up. Jerking them up quick doesn't injure them, and the coupler keeps them from getting separated or tangled around you.

Zeus and I walk every day twice a day. I carry pepper spray with me. Maybe you can carry a walking stick to bat off any loose dogs? In fact, we are heading out now that the storm seems to have passed. I love our walks, they are theraputic for both of us!
