I always cut off the pee pee string because I find that it leaves drops on the floor when he walks away from the pooh pad. |
Wow I learned something I have a 5 month old boy and had no idea you needed to do this....I always had short haired dogs before and never really worried about it. Thanks for the input!!! |

glad i stumbled on this blog because i was just about to cut ziggys peepee hair, lol. it just seemed unnecessary. btw ziggy still pees like a girl. i mean hes not lifting his leg, hes stretching his whole body. i dont know how girl dogs pee actually, lol but alot of ppl are commenting to me that he pees like a girl. i think its adorable lol but im clinically diagnosed already, so how can i get him to pee like a boy dog? or does he figure that out on his own? |

1) lifts his leg straight up, almost like a cheerleader doing a leg extension. 2) he squats and pees like a girl, he does this mostly if he's going to piddle in the middle of the pad, or in the middle of green grass where there is nothing to mark, like a tree 3) he sometimes does the squat and lift, where he squats but he still lifts one leg up, not quite as high but he still lifts it. Of all the ways he pees #3 is my fav, just because he sometimes chooses to switch legs mid pee. I think it's so funny he can't make up his mind. |
I think this is one of the funniest threads I have read. I have 2 boys, Hobbes 10 months old, he is just figuring out how to pee like a boy, he sort of hikes his leg. My Calvin is 16 weeks old and pees like a girl. I never thought about trimming the pee pee hair, I just wash them. When I pet Hobbes he always rolls on his back and spreads his legs, I call this his Playdog magazine pose. He wants everbody to see his stuff. He has been neutered, my 16 year old son says we cut off his junk. |
