She peed on my sofa !! Spotbot pet ? Chloe just peed on my sofa !! my new sofa  She has steps to get up and down , which she knows how to use...she just refuses to use them unless she wants to....sooo I guess she didn't want to  Its a microfiber sofa and I soaked some of it it up ( I saw it almost right away , but some had soaked in) so will a bissell spotbot really clean it well? I bought one last week because while the rest of the house is wood floors ( well pergo) the kids rooms and the upstairs has carpet. So I cleaned the sofa with it.... So does anyone have opinions on it ? I use the manual mode and I'm waiting for the sofa to dry to see if it did OK. I will be calling the sofa cleaner ASAP , but has anyone used the spotbot pet and do you think it works well? Hopefully this is the last time I will need it for my sofa :( I still can't believe she peed on my sofa !! |
Ohhhh MAN, that sucks! I think using the spotbot was a good idea, it's definitely better than doing nothing. I hope that it all works out for you. |
It seems to be looking fine as its drying , but I will still call the "sofa guy" to give it a real cleaning ( in case of deep down pee) ... the spot bot doesn't seem to have the greatest suction . Well atleast I don't have to wonder what the first "spill" on the sofa will be :) now if the boys spill something on it they can always say "Atleast we didn't pee on it" The funniest part was she looked at me then looked at Sydney then back to me as if she was thinking ..."I wonder if I can get away with blaming her? " |
Oh man that sucks! Can you take the fabric off the cushions? I have a suede couch and thank god none of mine have peed on it but they get everything else on it! lol I usually use a portable steamer on it or I take the fabric off and throw it in the wash. I just spent TWO hours cleaning the carpet in my dinning area and laundry/dog room. man over an hour just in the dog room. I was washing that darn carpet til the water ran clean. I can't believe the horror there was in there. But I do know it's mostly my darn Bull terrier!:mad: |

Unfortunatly no...I didn't really pay attention to that when we picked it out , its all attached so nothing unzips or anything . Its not the greatest design , but I didn't think that part through very well  I was just looking for a big sectional and didn't think about it...till the dog peed on it  She is usually sooo good , always using her pee pad...see if I brag on her again  |

Mine are good too usually and I was so surprised at the mess I just cleaned up lol. For some reason it was easier to train my yorkies then my larger dog. Mine is also a sectional and I didn't check for the cushions when I got it either but THANK heavens they unzip or I would be going crazy. The dogs are always getting it dirty as well as the kids :rolleyes: |
My Yorkie, Lexie, peed in my husband's car. We used Nature's Miracle and it worked great. His seats are cloth and it went deep down. I would try it on a swatch of fabric on the couch to be sure it doesn't mess it up. Nature's Miracle is the best. I am afraid to admit this because I don't want to jinx myself but Lexie is 11 months old and has been accident free for over a month. My use of Nature's Miracle has lessened considerably. Yay!!!! |

I use Nature's miracle to take care of the scent. I also keep a blanket on my couch for now since my two youngest are still too young to be considered fully potty trained. Maybe you could keep a blanket on your couch until your pup is older? I'm not sure how old your Chloe is but the blanket might help. |
Can you flip the cushions?? Don't feel bad. Bandit, who's never had an accident on the couch, and is almost 3 years old, peed on my DH ON the couch a few weeks ago:yelrotflm:yelrotflm:yelrotflm:yelrotflm I had given him a bath and for some reason he drinks bath water (maybe because it's warm) so I told DH he'd have to go out soon. So a half hour later and 4 reminders (or nags as he calls them) Bandit stood up, lifted his leg, and peed all over him!!! That's what you get for ignoring us to play video games haha:) |

Yeah when Chloe looked at Sydney , Sydney looked back at her like don't even try it !!!:p |
I have a Spot Bot and I love it for surface stains. I use it a week after I've treated a pee accident with Natures Miracle, though. Her urine probably soaked way down into the cushions so you need to get it deep cleaned or you will never get the smell out. |

Yeah , I will be calling him first thing monday morning , well this morning. ( it's like she waited to the weekend evening so I couldn't get anyone sooner ) I wasn't sure about the spot bot , the suction didn't seem that great , but I was happy with it...it did a good job :) But yeah , I worry about the pee that may have soaked deeper so I will be getting it professionally cleaned. I guess I should be happy it was Chloe and her wee little pee ( although it seemed big enough when on my sofa ) instead of Sydney and her river :D |
Roxie went thru a phase of this. I bought a king sized quilt as a slip cover (matelase style)put piddle pads underneath it on the cushions so she didn't know they were there but would keep the urine from soaking in. Then I just watched her and made a loud noise at her if she would even attempt it. She quit and no problems since. Safer to protect it for awhile if you can. |
Good idea. I put an old comforter on it for now...and she isn't allowed to be on the sofa if we are not with her , which is easy to accomplish , we just move the steps and she can't get up there :p Hopefully when she starts using the steps better ( she is such a princess she hates to use them) she will have no problem with comming down to use her pad and she can have free(er) reign of the sofa again. |
My Yorkie who only pees a happy pee did that on my leather couch last night? Any suggestions for that? Also what do I do about the Happy Pees? Its when a stranger comes in the door or a male person! |

I also had a leather sofa that was peed on by our other dog Sydney when she was a pup. It cleaned up fine with my leather cleaner and conditioner , but I still called in the sofa guy on that one too  As for happy pee's , im not sure ? I don't think much can be done about that but try posting a new thread about it so others can see it , others here are way more knowledgeable than me :) |

I have a Bissell ProHeat 2X Turbo that I got at Costco that has attachments that work great on furniture. The best part is that their detergents have scotchguard in them so once they're treated once, liquid won't absorb again. I would definitely recommend it, the attachments are great for spot cleaning or cleaning furniture, rugs, etc. Also, if the manufacturer of your couch says its ok, I would recommend Scotch Guarding your couch to protect against future incidents. It comes in a spray can, you can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot in the cleaning section....it's a miracle worker, I use it on all my fabric furniture and rugs. |
