Am I Insane?? OK......for those of you that have helped me with my housetraining issues...you will likely think I am nuts! Deb is 4 months old and doing great....except that she likes to poop in her crate....we can not seem to break her of this habit. Here comes the insane part. I have decided to adopt Deb's half sister!! She is 10 weeks old and about 2 lbs. Her breeder is having some health problems and contacted me about needing to find a home for her puppies. After seeing pictures I could not resist. I am going to be training both girls at the same time I guess :) Any words of wisdom from anyone else that has taken on two puppies at one time?? |
I think it great you are getting another baby. Just try and remember, Potty training takes time. It will all work out, hang in there! :) :) :) :) :) |
Thank you :) I am sooo excited!! |
We got Mickey and Minnie just a few months apart. and it has been great. |
Congratulations on the new addition! You might find that it's easier with two. They are great entertainment for each other, and I find they're less likely to get into other things if they're playing together. It's usually the bored doggie that gets into trouble. Four months is still so young, so hang in there! And just think-by training them both at the same time, once they are trained you'll have a happy, compatible family for many years to come!! |
That was sort of my thinking too....get them both trained at the same time...and then not have to worry...at least about that :) I am really excited and can not wait for her to get here :) |
Double the fun......double the love!!!!! |
What a fantastic idea, good luck to you. |
I have two sisters, and it worked out fine. They so love each other, and now my hubby and I each have our favorite one! Good luck and have fun! :p |
Mine are not sisters but are only 4 months apart. I crate trained both by taking them out frequently, 24/7 at first. If your puppy is pooping in his crate, there is too much room. my second, Lacey, is a tiny, so I positioned her crate so I could keep her door open and a pee pad nearby, so if she just had to go, she could do so without soiling her bed. She only did that for about a week and then she just followed Chloe and did amazingly well for a little one. They were both potty trained by about 7 months. |
Two boys I have two boys, different litters, 3 weeks apart in age. Bengie was a dream, and Garrett had more trouble. Gare would (and to this day) prefers the pads, he will go outside on occasion, Ben would have a heart attack if he did not get taken out for potty. He is like a little boy, dancing and prancing, jumpin and jiggling, til I take him out, Gare will use the pad if I forget. Good luck, having two is so much more fun than one, I had my first yorkie for 14 years by himself and he had some separation problems, much easier with two (and maybe three). LOL |
No you're not insane, we're all insane!! lol Congrats on your new puppy!! Can't wait to see pictures! Genie |
