Yorkie Missing Since 12/31/09
 

Hello to all,
I am new to this site and ask everyone to keep our yorkie Marty in their prayers. He is 2 years old and has been missing since 12/31. We have been looking tirelessly since he has last been seen and have still found no luck in his return. To anyone a part of the long island area, if you can be on the lookout for our dog, more information is available at

Welcome, under these sad circumstances. We will keep Marty in our thoughts. Please keep us updated. There are other yorkies missing also. Check out the thread "my baby is missing" there may be some sources on there that you can use. I hope for a happy reunion soon.

Was he chipped? Check with all shelters, vets, put and ad on Craigslist, check same.... On it goes. See the Cookie thread for more.

Geez I hate to see this, it's not warm out there and tough on a little dog.

I have seen your flyers around. You need to make more and put them on poles. I have only seen 2. Have you notified vets, groomers, shelters. You have to be vigilant. I am so sorry your guy is lost. I will keep my eyes and ears open. Could he have been stolen? I am a nervous wreck now. My babies don't go outside without supervision EVER!!!

Hi, don't know the circumstances of his disappearance (fireworks??), but this just happened to us in a small town, we posted everywhere crowds go, incl. every ATM & fast food drive-thru, city offices, our car windows, downtown benches, dollar stores, garbage cans, waste depots, main intersections & leading out of town, the county sheriff said they wouldn't hassle us if we posted on county traffic poles - everywhere visible. When businesses take them down, put them back up if you can. Mobilize the football team to take turns replacing removed ones daily at Walmart in the milk, bread, pet departments, sneak them up at the checkouts, keep on keeping on, because chances are someone is keeping your pup warm somewhere. Buy a Saturday newspaper spread thanking the Good Samaritan who is taking care of your pup in the cold, etc. was another good suggestion. Reward for information is said to be an effective policy on the off chance the people wanted to keep him. This is assuming there wasn't a traffic or hawk or mean dog incident. Pissing people off by putting your posters up without permission is the lesser of evils, in case you're conflicted, and try not to let the imaginings get the better of you. Do everything you and your helpers can think of that you are able. Drive around a lot. Don't be embarrassed, tell everyone, people will be gentle.

We went through some tape and printer ink, and luckily ours was home the same day the posters went up, because a caring person had rescued him from traffic.

If you will find him soon that will be the way I think.
