WOW what's with that? That was really bitchy and uncalled for. Geez.

haha !! nope - just having fun - you seemed to be serious about calling people creepy and was just giving you what you seemed to be looking for -

If I was being bitchy - I'd have said something totally different believe me -

Think about some of the things you say to people. To me - some of those are pretty bitchy but then - to each his own as CJ said

and ps - Personally - I LIKE the name Disney and the fact that you called your pet Walt.

I know someone who has a 'Frank and Beans' (2 yorkies) and remember telling her if she got a 3rd she could name him/her 'Toots'

If you are referring to this thread I don't believe I've said anything bitchy except about Edveard and Bella...And they aren't real so they can't be offended. :p

If you are referring to other threads...Well I believe each thread should be left alone. ;)

BTW - my girl is named MIA and I didn't consider who else had named their dog that before I gave it to her.

And I am a HUGE fan of Twilight - yes, you heard me - the film about sparkling vampires. I'm going to assume that you haven't read it or you would know that it is more of a "love story" than a "vampire" movie.

I'm amazed that someone who uses Disney as a sign-on and names their dog Walt doesn't enjoy "fantasy" as that is what Walt Disney based his entire legacy on. Wasn't Tinkerbell a fairy?

I would also venture to say that you don't like Harry Potter, Star Trek, Star Wars, or Lord of the Rings - right? All fiction, fantasy, and Pop Culture.

And I find it very rude that people come on here with a limited amount of posting and find it necessary to criticize other members over the silliest things. Don't you have some other way of contributing to this forum?

Whoa... simmer down there, champ. I don't think anybody was criticizing anyone over everything. To whom you are referring is not clear, but so far, your post has been the most inflammatory in this thread thus far.

Not everyone, self included, don't like that fantasy BS. I'm proud to say, I've never watched nor read any of the titles you listed, and never plan to.

And, as far as criticizing over the stupidest things... pot, meet kettle

LOL well me and my brother are named after two characters from Jake and the fat man (not named AFTER them, my mother just heard the names and liked them) People always said if she ever had a third child she'd have to name him The Fat Man. :p

I believe by "cj125" quoting "Disney" , she was referring to her (Disney), so it was clear to me anyway just who she was criticizing (and rightly so, IMO).

What exactly did I do? I said a woman was a nutbag for naming her twin children Bella and Edward. I had a joke about a book series. I deserved all that because of that?

Okay, again, someone who didn't read what I said or what followed. Did you name your child Manolo? Your human child. This chick named her HUMAN CHILDREN Edward and Bella.

I hope the next person actually reads what's been said because this is getting really annoying. Naming pets is not comparable to naming children.

Sometimes that happens when people veer away from the topic. It started out as names for dogs and what you said was easily misread.

As for Twilight, if you have not read it, I suggest you do before making comments about it!

I actually have read all the books. :)

I apologize to anyone who misread what I said. But I do stand by my comment. Naming your twin children Edward and Bella is creepy. I really feel for those kids. :( You should never name twins after lovers from any show or book, it's just messed up.

mybabymax 01-11-2010 06:55 AM

I also have a Bella, I just love the name!

Darlene68 01-11-2010 06:58 AM

I personally think a person should be able to call their children whatever they want, there were a lot of Edwards and Bella's out there long before the movie Twilight surfaced. Dogs, children, if they belong to you, name them whatever you like! :)

I agree, but she named her kids after Twilight exploded all over the media. I just think how hard school will be for those poor tots :(

It's a little offensive to some that have enjoyed the Twilight series for you to refer to the books as "God awful". And, very judgmental to call people creepy for naming their child after someone they find "hot" (attractive). I can't see naming your dog after books you didn't like or people you find ugly. How enjoyable would it be for you to have to forever call your dog a name you didn't care for?

Now back OT......the first dog Bella I ever heard of was 20 years ago, a friends great dane was named Bella. I loved the name then and still do, but avoided it because of so many other Bellas out there.

Putting your children through years of humiliation because they have been named after a popular love series is extremely cruel.

On the same token, reading how great Twilight is offends me. But as you said, back on topic. We're all entitled to like what we like and dislike what we like. I do apologize for offending people because I don't like Twilight.

Moving on. Bella is a very cute name, but I love Belle better. There is the most beautiful pure white German Shepard on my street called Belle. She leaves me in awe.

I wasn't going to write in this thread, but after reading your post, I thought I would add something. You said, "...named after a popular love series is extremely cruel." I, personally, reserve such strong words as, 'extremely cruel', to those that beat or inflict any form of neglect/abuse towards their children. I would never say something so harsh over of a name choice!

To the OP: I like the name Bella...it's cute! :)

Sookie 01-11-2010 07:34 AM

I actually considered naming my puppy twins Bella and Edward! :) I was going to give them the AKC names Sulina's Twilight and Sulina's Breaking Dawn. :)

ladyjane 01-11-2010 07:36 AM

I have a foster named Isabella and I think it is just a perfect name for her! :) Very pretty name imo.

Well everyone has their own thoughts on what is cruel. :) Life is subjective.

Any way, any other Bella cuties coming out of the woodworks? There's a user here whom's pup is named Bella Blue. I think that is really really cute. :)

Arzel36 01-11-2010 07:53 AM

I have noticed a lot of Bellas.

So which one would you be? I don't remember any women much in Jake and the Fat man.

MaddiesMommie 01-11-2010 08:33 AM

I have a horse I named Bella, yep after Bella Swan from Twilight!:D
I like the name.

Maddie was a name dh and I could agree on and Cooper already had her name name when she came to us. (Previous owners thought she was a boy.) I wanted to change it to Miley, as in Miley Cyrus.

Your picture shows a very beautiful lady... but your posts don't reflect that. All of your posts are arrogant and condescending and I don't believe it has anything to do with the multitude of languages that you speak. I know plenty of people who speak other languages that don't have this problem. It's about attitude - not the translation of words.

First off your being a bit dramatic with the years of humilation crap :confuse8:
Bella & Edward are common names I could see if the names were Quazimotto and Zena princess warrior, but they are not .:smhuge2: I also find it offensive for you to say dumbo things and create hurt feelings. But hey that is JMO also

Oh, come on :) I was not being serious! I believe in writing, connotation can be lost. I may be a bit arrogant, I am a 2nd year Law Student, so it comes w/the territory ;) (kidding). People take trivial matters, like this, far too seriously :)

Have a good one :)
But, PS - your post wasn't very nice, either. I've never, IMO, been malicious in singling someone out to call them 'arrogant' and 'condescending'. Just throwing that out for you to ponder ;)

Lee B 01-11-2010 10:22 AM

My little one started out as an Isabella, pronounced E-sa-bella, hard on the E. I was going for a call name of E-sa (in Spanish the I (eye) is pronounced as an E). But when I was playing with her, it went from E-sa! E-sa-bell-a! to just plain ol' Bella to Bella-Boo

But she's not confused ... I think she answers to anything in the general vicinity of her name ;)
