The National Specialty is hosted by the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America......The have the National in NY every year in February the weekend before Westminster.......Yorkies from all over the US, Europe, Canada, Mexico come to compete. It is a conformation competition. You have Sweepstakes (which is puppies on Friday), Saturday the Yorkshire Terrier Club of NY has their Specialty and Sunday The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America has theirs. 3 days of beautiful yorkies, exhibited by some of the top breeders from all over. Wonderful fun vendors. Saturday Night there is a Yorkshire Terrier Dinner (anyone can attend, see the YTCA.org page)......entertainment and auction......fun yorkie stuff being auctioned off. Accross the from the garden on Friday there is the Progressive dog show at the Penn Hotel....Westminster starts the following Monday........

The YTCA also holds a Roving Specialty....this year it will be held in Las Vegas in October. Last year it was in Memphis....with our own Bravo916/Kristena's dog Havoc taking Winners Dog.......

Use to travel to NY & NJ a lot on business, before I retired. Now I just look forward to going for the National. Some of the top breeders there. Durrer, Pastoral, Parkside, Yorkboro......and more.

I'm usually there every year, this year I can't make it.....Brooklynn/YTer will be there, she'll be handling her Radar.......

I really hope you can make it......so much fun......

I know that there are people on facebook that have yorkies....don't know about

Freestyle is one of my favorites! Here is one I love watching. There is another one I am going to try and find....it was a lady who had cancer and it was her last dance/performance with her dog. I sat crying over that one.

That is amazing, too adorable. I have to agree that a yorkie would be cuter, but I am a little biased;)

Oh, I did not see this until now. How cute is that?!?! Yep, a yorkie would be a hoot!

I just did a search on You Tube for yorkies and really did not find much.

I also cannot remember the one that was dying. She left her dog to a friend who planned to continue to do freestyle with her...it was their last dance and it was so sad. I had it saved somewhere....guess I did not save it well. :(
